We just want to wish Stephenie a very Happy Birthday!!! And to all the fans a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yesterday Stephenie Meyer posted a blog on her myspace that she finished the rough draft of Breaking Dawn. She says:

“I finished the ROUGH draft. Very, very rough. To put this in perspective, it took over two years from the rough draft stage of Twilight to the book being on store shelves. In general, I spend about a year to a year and a half editing a book. Don’t cry, though, because both I and Little Brown’s editorial staff are going to do everything in our power to get Breaking Dawn out Fall 2008. So, fingers crossed, it will be on time.”

Could Twilight be the next Harry Potter? Stephenie Meyer comments,  

“People are crazy,” she says of the sort of fundamentalists who rose up against the demonic supernaturalism of Harry Potter. “I have a hard time figuring that out. There are people out there who know my books are about vampires and won’t pick them up.”  

 Stephenie also mentions that she is slowing down in writing the fourth book in the Twilight Saga and says,  

“I’m not ending this [fourth book] on a cliffhanger for sure. I’m not going to kill options off, but for Bella, it’s going to be a place to stop. She’s not going to narrate after this book. I think people are going to be satisfied with the resting place of this.”
