this is just my opinion, but i really dont think guys should read eclipse and breaking dawn. and i really hate those people in the “Team Hermione or Team Bella?” thing. those people sure got a big surprise when bella saved the day in breaking dawn:) and they also missed that bella didnt want to get married. “She doesn’t have friends outside of Edward and her family.” someone missed the were-wolves. and what is with that guy from normal mormon husbands and chickens? well, pluckie the chicken.

P.S. HP fans aren’t jealous. We have our own happy little fandom. Also, the MTV article is not asking who would win in a battle since both series have different limitations. They’re discussing the merits of the characters as two prominent female figures. People get mad that it’s a “battle”. But it isn’t. It’s MTV thats telling you it’s a battle. It’s a mere comparison of the two most popular novels of the 2000s. It is our opinion. Some of you might think that Bella rocks your socks. Cool.

You have to admit that both Bella and Hermione have been faced with similar conflicts. They have both been unwillingly thrust into life and death conflict and they have both stood unflinchingly by the people that they love. Both have been abandoned by the men they love because (the man they loved) felt inadequate. Since these two veritably different characters have been put through an onslaught of similar trials, it is only natural to compare the two characters if not the two series. It’s called criticism and literary analysis.

ok, we know that mtv was not asking who would win. i was simply stating that a vampire would win against a wizard. and the whole thing about the bella and hermione comparison, i think they were only compared to each other because they are the lead females in the two most popular series in the 2000s. i dont think it has anything to do with the fact that they were put through similar conflicts.

p.s. i believe the answer to your question would be no because expelliarmus is a spell to take away wands. vampire skin and wands are two completly diffrent things.

I wish everyone would stop falling into the media traps. The forum wars are fueled by them! Get over it! Two different series and two very different authors. Like them both, separately, or not at all. Just shut up with all the comparisons already!

It is definitely the media who started it all. These heated debates spawn huge ratings as well as major publicity for the HP and Twilight camps.

I like both series equally. They are vastly different and to me it would be like comparing The Dark Knight with Mama Mia…both movies were kicka$$ and I seriously see no connection….same principal.

I would prefer being Hermione, not for the power but its great determination and its mental force. Bella is sooo.. you know i always was discouraged when i read that she was so desperate to kill her self for everyone and stuff like that.. I know she really wanted to save them but she also liked the idea that she would be the girl who sacrifised her self and that’s what pleased her.. like she wasn’t that much important the way she was.. I don’t really like that attitude..

Okay, so I would pick Bella over Hermione just because i’m already close to Hermione cuz i’m “too smart for my own good.” plus, bella has such a close relationship with her parents whereas Hermione spends all year at hogwarts and barely ever sees hers. i’m not saying that bella is my role model, just that bella completely beats hermione in my mind.
