Ms. Meyer has a team of lawyers that could have suppressed any “leak” before most of us were aware of it. She could have had those lawyers place recipients of her unfinished manuscript under contract that they would NOT leak it or face certain legal doom.

She did not.

I appreciate the stand you all are making on her behalf, but that does not make the first 12 chapters any less present on the internet. As a fan, I was able to look past the typographical errors to the intent behind them and able to appreciate the story presented.

Yes, I will be sad if Midnight Sun is never published. Edward’s story is VASTLY more interesting than Bella’s story. However, I think that the first 12 chapters being “leaked” is a publicity stunt. Something to keep us addicted and salivating and anxious until the movie is released. I will, frankly, not be surprised if Midnight Sun is concurrently released with, or shortly after, the movie.

Ms. Meyer has written a story..she’s written a universe..that even Tolkien would be proud of..but without his belaboring. There’s nothing I could come up with in my own head that would be better than Ms. Meyer’s canon.

I’m sorry she’s been disenheartened by this breach, but I think it could have been circumvented if she had truly wished it.
