Quote Stephenie Meyer:

As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher.

I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution.

I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being. As the author of the Twilight Saga, I control the copyright and it is up to the owner of the copyright to decide when the books should be made public; this is the same for musicians and filmmakers. Just because someone buys a book or movie or song, or gets a download off the Internet, doesn’t mean that they own the right to reproduce and distribute it. Unfortunately, with the Internet, it is easy for people to obtain and share items that do not legally belong to them. No matter how this is done, it is still dishonest. This has been a very upsetting experience for me, but I hope it will at least leave my fans with a better understanding of copyright and the importance of artistic control.

So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn’t like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn’t dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.

I’d rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting? It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I’ve decided to make the draft available here (at the end of this post). This way, my readers don’t have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward’s head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That’s what inspired me to write it in the first place.

I do want to take a moment and thank the wonderful fans who have been so supportive of me over the past three years. I cannot begin to tell you how much each of you means to me. I only hope this note will stop all the confusion and online speculation so that the Twilight universe can once again become the happy escape it used to be. After this incredibly busy year, I am now focusing on spending more time with my family and working on some other writing projects.

Ditto. My mammy will be ordering me up to bed in a while. I’m staying on here until then. I just wanna see how everyone else feels. I find it’s easier to share our pain.

  • Filipa:

    Here its 10.32 pm.
    I think I won’t sleep for many days ;__;

  • Niamh:

I’m afraid nothing can stop me from sleeping! I’m a complete lazy-bones!!! But this news is pretty devastating!

  • Filipa:

what kind of person does a thing like this to her?
    this is so sad ;__;
if she published the chapters on her website, she’s almost telling us

    “Forget this book”

    Omg ;__;
    sorry about my english
    i’m too nervous

  • Niamh:

No don’t worry Filipa! Your English is really good. Yeah, it’s like she’s just giving up……. Does anyone think she’s over-reacting with the whole ‘indefinitely’ thing? Fine if she just said she was going to take a break to let this whole thing blow over but to actually quit a book?! It hurts to think she’d do this to the fans she says she loves.

  • Ali:

that is true…by putting the 12 chapters on her site she is kinda saything thats it…maybe the best we can hope for is that she will write the remaining chapters and post them online

i should be in bed but i too feel better talking to others about this

  • Ali:

oh no I’m so tired im making heaps of spelling mistakes

  • Filipa:

well, i’m a young writer, im finnish a book right know… i might understand her feelings. is really sad someone betray you, but we have no fault! she’s ove-reacting… a LOT!

  • Niamh:

The more I talk about all this the better I feel! I’m not going to read it. I refuse to read it until it’s published and if Stephanie really cares about her fans she will find it in her to finish Edward’s Twilight!

  • Filipa:

we should have a talk together in menssenger or something like that… it’s easier, but we can talk here, if you want

  • Niamh:

I’m glad someone agrees with me too Filipa!

  • Filipa:

yes, i won’t read it too

  • Niamh:

Oh and sorry Filipa, I only barely know how to work the comments on the internet. Technology is not my strong point!

  • Filipa:

    oh :x sorry
can’t you work with msn? :/

  • Ali:

i’m going to say goodnight fellow twilight fans. thanks for listening. this is truly a sad day.

over the next week we should learn more…lets hope that there is still a chance at Edwards story

  • Niamh:

With what? Sorry! I really haven’t got a clue!

  • Niamh:

    Yup! Buh Bye Ali!

  • Filipa:

    goodnight ali

    MSN – Messenger

  • Niamh:

Actually, I better head too. Watching Walk The Line (great movie by the way). Bye Twilighters!!! (“,)

  • Ali:

awww there you go people. and now she will not continue MS for some time … grrr. i didnt event read the leaked chapters yet…

  • Niamh:

Oh yeah sorry I’ve heard of it alright! Okay gotta go! Nighty night!

  • Filipa:

    Goodnight!

  • I am balling right now. i can barely type this. who ever did that should be put in jail!!! if she doesn’t finnish the book i will die. i am one of the biggest fans you will meet. i read the books several times and i am in love with vampires. i am now writing a vampire book of my own. If you read this Stephenie Meyer i beg of you not to stop. you are my hero and the one writer i truly look up to. your work taught me what kind of a writer and think i am. i know this must be hard for you, butyou can’t just give up. what will that tell your readers and crazy fans. keep at it. and we are all here for you.

  • Stephanie M:

I am sooooooo upset! I was looking forward to this so much! The first chapter looked soooo interesting I really wanted to finish reading it! I can’t believe what has happened.
    I could kill that person that put that up! WAH! ;_;

  • Alison (A Vampire):

    Is this really honestly happening?

  • jess:

“It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes.”

um, maybe you should look back at breaking dawn…that was flawed, filled with plot holes, and out of character, but you still threatened your publishers and made them print it anyway.
case in point: what’s with the pouting? you have a similar attitude whenever you address the fans who didn’t enjoy BD, as if they’re all 11 yr olds who have never read a book bigger than yours. yes, we have read more complicated, well-written books that you could try studying before you publish another fanfiction-esque novel. we’re not victims of the Rob-effect, we’re victims of the reverse Rob-effect. loved the series before, but hating it now because it (and your originally mediocre writing) has gone on a downward spiral.
but i see that you simply want more attention from rabid fangirls, and as soon as you get enough suicide threats and rivers of tears, you’ll announce the return of midnight sun and become their heroine again.
    oh, what desperate people do…

  • jess:

huh…i wonder what the fangurls will say once they read what i wrote before…
    lulz
    kisses!

  • OME this is HORRIBLE ! ! ! I can’t believe someone would do that. Writing is an emotional thing. It’s hard to take something you’ve written and put it out for the public not knowing if they’ll like it or not, and for someone to just push her work out into the public eye without her knowledge is wrong. I don’t care who the writer is or how good they are, it’s still immoral and rude.

  • Nikki:

Worst day ever…i hate the jerks who put it on…stephenie please don’t stop writing this book besides the movie this is like the only thing keeping me going today…:’(

  • Angelica:

what those ppl di was beyond horrible

  • Krystee:

at first i was like #$^%&$# but then was like yay we get a ruft draft of the book! and then was like indefinately! aww hell!!! this has ruined the twilight world who is the ass hole that ruined our lives? why did they do this now we have to suffer for it and poor stephenie probably feels violated and used!!! i just wish she could finish it for us but she must be so sad and heart broken! i weep for us pore twilighters and how we just have the dumb movie to look forward to! dont get me wrong i dig the movie but i love the books with a passion of a thousand kisses! i would rather have all of midnight sun than the movie!! this person that did this deed is a blasphemer and shall burn in hell for his sins!!! twilighters all around the world would curse his name if we new who it was! damn.. i wish she told us! we could all send hate mail! haha love you guys =)

  • cullen#8:

i hope that person who leaked it is seriously suffering from the consequences.

  • the heartbroken xxjasperxx:

maybe a mean email or two from the people who know he/she did it. and the couple thousand death wishes from all those heartbroken fans. i still wanna cry when i read these posts.

agreed krystee!! midnight sun is an original book by SM. the movies were changed from the books. stuff was added and deleted. the movies are not our SM, the author.

  • PENNY:

    :’(

    WHY?????????????????????????????????????????

  • emmettlover:

y??????? y r these ppl torturing us?????? cant they just b nice and leave us alone??? poor stephenie is heartbroken!!!!

    =[ y ppl?!?!?!?! y?!?!?!?!

  • bink:

i cannott beleive they would do that? do they not think of us? or stephenie? i feel really bad for her ii was extremely looking forwardr to midnight sun!

  • emmettlover:

they literally RUINED our lives!!! ugh. i am going 2 go die now.

  • Sonja:

Not sure if this has been suggested yet but here is my post from another place:

I’d be lying if I said my heart didn’t break into a million pieces when I read this before work. But we the fans need to let Stephanie know that we aren’t going to let those who leaked it win by not reading it even though she posted the draft herself.

I sent that message to Stephanie myself and to my facebook Twilight group. I just don’t want her to give up on us the fans and Edward and Twilight. And promising I won’t read it to her is the only thing I can think of that can be done to give her hope that not all of us are like that.

If it takes her 3 years to 20 years to get over this, I can wait. But I’m not reading that draft till I have Midnight Sun in my hands from a local book dealer and I’ve read it cover to cover. Not a minute sooner.

  • Nat Cullen:

OME!!! to all those stupid people who went aganist Stephenie’s wishes and went ahead and read the spoilers!!! should be deeply ashamed of themselves!! :( i cnt believe this utter travesty!!! i totally agree with all those who are supporting Stephenie and not reading any spoilers about Midnight sun untill they can have the finished product within their grasps!!
    thanx
    xxx

  • Erin:

Wow. Just…wow. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for Stephanie to have to deal with the leaking of her book. How heartbreaking for her. After reading the totally compelling first chapter, I have been so anxious to read Midnight Sun. She’s well within her rights to do put this on hold. I can only hope that she gets the inspiration back to finish. But if not, I would understand completely. I’ll wait patiently for Midnight Sun so I can read all of it and put it next to my other books.

  • Dania:

We fans should do something for steph. so that she knows we are here for her and we love her very much.

I knew at some point something bad like this would happen.

she soared high in the sky and now she’s down and we fans should help pick her back up, so that she can have the strength to continue writing for not only us but future inspired fans.

  • lionluvslamb:

im obsessed without this might not be able to survive…not jk

  • lionluvslamb:

I REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYY WANT MIDNIGHT SUN 2 COME OUT!!!

  • Kristin:

I really hate how some people have to ruin everything for everyone else! I hope midnight sun does get made it’s to good and important to us twilighters, to not be finished would be a shame!

  • Aly:

    Three words.

    Well this sucks.

I already read it in an email from a friend, so the shock is over. Now Im just mad. Who would do something like this to Stephenie Meyer? I know they didn’t intend for any of this to happen at the time, but still.

  • amy:

    the heartbroken xxjasperxx,

This is a reply to your question, though I don’t think you will see this. Leesa had a really good reply to this whole situation, her response is close to the top.

  • Eve:

I’m sooo sad! i vow i will not read the leaked version i want to read it how she meant for it to be read completed and bound….i hope she reconsiders and continues the book.

  • kate cullen:

………………………..im literally beyond words. this is so devastating i cant even find it in me to CRY. lefuo74569545r4,gdf.bmfgblnbvbnh.f’;lhpdogpfogpjfoiug9e8toyjtioyh459u8@$$%^@34%^*((*^%%$%$$$%^^^!!!!!! ugh!! ugh!!

  • Lydia :(:

I will ruin those vampire-haters for destroying my life’s blood and stopping the progress on midnight sun!!!!!

  • Lydia :(:

    THIS IS BAD, VERY BAD!

  • beccaboo:

no please stephenie! they true fans wont read it! we want to see the whole story exactly as you want it! :[

    we all love you SM

  • Claire:

    All,

A group (getting rather large) of us have posted letters to SM about this on Twilightersanonymous.com (see below).

The admin on the site will be sending the thread to Seth, Stephenie’s brother who manages her website. Please stop by to read and send your letter to her as well if you wish…thanks.

    http://forum.twilightersanonymous.com/index.php/board,48.0.html

  • listen up!!:

maybe if many more of us join and not read it then maybe just maybe stephenie will see how much respect and love we have for her and the characters then be inspired to keep writting.

  • Miranda:

THIS IS JUST SOOOOO AWFUL AND DEVASTATING!!! THIS IS THE WORSE NEWS I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE TWILIGHT SERIES!! TO FIND OUT THAT MIDNIGHT SUN WAS PUT ON HOLD INDEFINITELY IS A HUGE BLOW!! I WAS LITERALY CRYING WHEN I READ THE POST SHE PUT UP!! I CANT BELIEVE SOMEONE WOULD DO THIS TO STEPHENIE AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK SHE HAS DONE FOR US FANS!! BUT COME ON EVERYONE WE CANT GIVE UP HOPE AND HATE HER!! WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF SOMEONE DID THAT TO A BOOK YOU WERE WRITING YOU WOULD BE FRUSTRATED LIKE SHE SO GIVE HER A BREAK!! I LOVE YOU AND SUPPORT YOU STEPHENIE SO KEEP WRITING DONT GIVE UP!! (sorry about all the caps i was pretty upset)

  • Emily:

honestly, i did read the leaked draft when it came out, and it was AMAZING. i’m so sad that she might not finish it, i’ve been a fan since 2005 (when it first came out) and i’ve loved every bit of it ever since. i will be seriously bummed if it doesn’t get written, it would have been a beautiful addition to the series :(

  • Nikki:

I’m reading the draft now, and its fantastic… did we really expect anything less!? of course not! Stephanie is amazing. I’m sorry that she feels so betrayed by the leak of the draft, but I think shes doing more harm than good by refusing to finish. Cutting her nose off to spite her face…
I really hope that eventually she comes to terms with this incident and falls back in love with the project the way she has made us all fall in love with the Cullens… hopefully then things will fall back into place…

    please? :-)

  • jennie:

    dear stephenie,

i feel rlly bad about wat happened and if i were to put myself in ur shoes, i would feel the same way ; BETRAYED. anyway i am very srry for wat happened. so to let u kno i rlly hope u choose to continue writing midnight sun. becuz i would be rlly disapointed to see midnight sun not being published and i am guessing so will the rest of ur fans. again i rlly do feel bad and rlly mad at the people who did it.

  • jennie:

    nikki i agree with u

  • jennie:

    this sucks

  • jennie:

the draft was……. AMAZING. not a shock at all. y would u? its by stephenie meyer!

  • Christina:

This is the most depressing thing I have ever read. I refuse to read this draft and hope and pray for the REAL, finalized version of Midnight Sun, as she intended us to read it. I read the first chapter when she put it on her site in the first place and I will leave it at that… You may call me stubborn but I refuse to read this, even if its been given out by her now, because like she said, its not how it was meant to be read. I really hope those who leaked it feel ashamed of themselves. I cant imagine how much sadness and anger this has caused Stephenie…

  • dania:

    i agree with christina

  • Van:

    let’s commit mass suicide!

  • afah:

omg.. no no no no no no no.
i really have got to read midnight sun and knw the inside of edward cullen’s mind.

if anyone knws stephenie meyer, can you pls pls pls pls pls pls pls let her knw that it just wont be the same if midnight sun isnt published. ill be forever grateful!! thank you. =)

and i hope stephenie will have a wonderful vacation. she needs it after all the books shes written.

  • bell:

    someone……
    please TALK TO ME!! *sob*

  • Lilah:

i closed it. the draft. with great difficulty…
but i did it. and im never gonna open it again.

  • Niamh:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I refuse to read Midnight Sun until it is published, end of! Oh and has anyone noticed that everyone presumes the person who leaked the manuscript is male?

  • Melissa:

    …WHO EVER PUBLISHED THE 12 CHAPTERS…..

SHOULD PAY.. OR DIE… EITHER ONE WOULD BE NICE.

  • Lisa:

    ); Gosh, who in the world did the posting and stuff. Every twilighter is waiting for Midnight Sun and Twilight the movie, what are we going to look forward to now if Midnight Sun is gone? );

  • Menolly:

As for traitor being male, who knows. I think people are just hoping it wasn’t Rob that allowed it to be leaked. We know he had a copy as he is playing Edward. I think more like it was a rabid female fan who somehow got hold of an original copy, copied it quickly and with no thought to the consequences posted the manuscript hoping to bask in glory for bringing something so coveted to the world. They didn’t stop to think, they didn’t stop to care.

  • greyeyedlux:

I am just as mad as any of you. I have some things to say about it though. The first being that everyone is blaming the person who leaked it, but what seem to be forgetting is that Stephenie gave it out and from what i read she said that she gave out more than one copy. It’s her fault just as much as it is that person who posted it. If she didn’t want it read than she shouldn’t have given it out. Although I do understand the hurt and betrayal that she feels because she trusted this person.

Secondly, why is she saying she is going to put it off indefinately? i know that that word doesn’t mean no but the message that she left on her board basically made it pretty clear that she had not intention of ever finishing it. Now, I think that this a big letdown to her fans not only because she is punishing all of her loyal fans who didn’t do anything wrong for the mistake and betrayal of one person, but because she made a promise to her fans that it would be finished and she is breaking it. It is her obligation by making that promise to finish the book for us. I think that it hurts her credibility as an author who claims to care about her fans. in this way she is letting us all down for a mistake that was in part hers.

Lastly, when I read her message she said that she was not in the right state of mind. “If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn’t dovetail too well with the original story.” Now to start out with we all already know how the story goes by this point so no matter how upset she she can’t change that. She would really lose credibility if she completely changed the story. Then there’s the fact that she already knows what Edward was doing and thinking during the whole book. She couldn’t have written Twilight if that wasn’t the case. Most the book was written from the first one anyway. All she has to is write minute thoughts and reactions in some places where the words and story line was already laid out in Twilight. She says that she couldn’t write it in this state of mind, which is fine , but she could just let it pass and then finish it, because it will pass. But either way, I don’t understand her theory of how she couldn’t write him now. She is writing his thoughts and feelings not her own. I think she putting to much stock into the way she is feeling. It’s like she is writing her first story and it is all about her. His thoughts and feelings go along with what he, Edward, is going through in the book. It has nothing to do with what she the writer is going through now especially with the fact that the book is truly already written.

Ok, so maybe that wasn’t the last thought, but this one will be. I honestly just think that she is over-reacting. And another thought occured to me since I read that message. What if Stephenie Meyer never really wanted to finish writing Midnight Sun? It kinda fits right. I have read articles and things where she has been asked about it and everytime she gives you the sense that didn’t really want to do it. She has made comments like “I don’t if I will actually publish it. I might just put it on my website when I finish it” (EW) or “I don’t actually know if I am quite ready to jump right back into the Cullen universe just yet” (B&N Interview). And if she wanted to keep it so under wraps, why did she give out a bunch of copies to her friends, no matter how trustworthy she thought them? And one more thing if she didn’t want us to read the unfinished draft why would she put it up on her website? All she has do is say that the ones released are drafts and say you can read them if you want but I prefer you didn’t. Not everyone read them. I didn’t even know about them. She could have just treated it the way she treated Breaking Dawn. It just seems to me like she was looking for any reason at all not to finish it and this finally gave her the out she was looking for.

I am just so mad! She is being ridiculous and in some she should be happy that she had to write that message. It proves that she has millions of fans who love her characters just as much as she does and want more. I just wish that she would see that and live up to her promises.

I want you finished Midnight Sun!

  • amy:

    Thank you greyeyedlux
    I agree completely.

  • Mrs.EdwardCullen:

Wow, i dont even know what to say. This is both a huge suprise and disappointment… I need a minute to collect my thoughts…

  • Michelle:

    *heart breaks*
ouch. Stephenie is completely right. it’s upsetting that a few people have to ruin it for everyone else. =( darnit

  • Christina:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am freaking out here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutly LOATHE whoever put that copy on the internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am seriously HEARTBROKEN that this book will NEVER come out.

    STUPID TWILIGHT TRAITORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But on a side note, the draft is freakin amazing…..which actually pisses me off more cause now we’ll never know the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • greyeyedlux:

Am I the only one who thinks that she is being utterly ridiculous and childish. Some people that she made the mistake of giving the partial drafts to posted them on the internet, and that’s our fault? We shouldn’t be able to read it because they did something that she didn’t like? I didn’t even know it was out on the net, and neither did a lot of other people. Why are we blaming the people who posted it? That shouldn’t even matter. We should be blaming her, because she is the one holding the story back from her fans for no reason at all. Honestly i just don’t think she wanted to write it all.

  • Amanda M.:

Some people are constantly overreacting to everything that happens in relation to Twilight to get attention or flaunt their “fan-ness”, but I know a lot of people are being honest about their emotions toward this. I am not gonna claim that I’m on anti-depressants now or that I cried all day, but I feel this deep ache of disappointment and I really have been unhappy for the past two days, although I don’t think about it all the time. I am very sad, especially because this was something we didn’t have control over but which affects us still. I hope things turn out better than they seem like they will right now…

  • Jessica:

This is a time for mourning indeed. I am so upset over this and pray she has a change in heart for her loyal fans. It’s not fair to her but as well for us who have been waiting patiently for the release of Midnight Sun. All twilighters should bombard the traitor who created this scenario!

  • i think she has the right to be upset… but doesnt indefinitely hold the novel for way to long? i have been going around websites all over the internet pointing my point of view! it isnt fair that because someone betraied her everyone has to pay…!! I think she should keep going with the novel! i think even shes wondering how midnightsun and edwards POV is going to end up as right!? DONT LET ANYONE OR ANYTHINGGG STOP YOU STEPH!!! remember u got our support! but

  • dont let us downn!!!!!!!!

  • christie:

    this sucks ass.

  • oddball:

This is absolutely horrible. I love the twilight books and I am super sad about midnight sun. I have to say, I did read the chapters that steph put on the website, and I loved it, I just hope someday I can read the whole thing. Steph, we love you! Please keep going, we know this was a blow, it was for us too. I love that you want to focus on your family as well, it says a lot about a person, but please publish this book! There are millions and millions of people dedicated to you and your work. These books are incredible! Please share your gift with us by picking up where you left off!

  • Stupid_Lamb:

No! Stephenie! PLEASE! Keep writting! People all around the world have been waiting for ever for this book.

(IF YOU HAVENT READ BREAKING DAWN SKIP THIS)
Edward finally saw into Bella’s mind, and now we want to see into HIS.

    SUPPORT MIDINGHT SUN!

  • Sami:

I think that we all just need to show her how much we care. Although we ALL want to yell at the person who did it and tell Stephenie how much we would love to have Midnight Sun… It won’t help. She needs to make her own decisions. And I’m sure Stephenie wanted to write the book and have it published just as much as we wanted it to happen. Hopefully she’ll feel better very soon! So sorry Stephenie!

  • Sami:

Oh and everyone she did say that she was working on some other projects. So let’s be optomistic here… Steph’s not going away for good :)

wow………..since last time i saw this post there r more than a hundred new comments on this. impressive……………

but i cant believe this. seriously. while i can honestly say i agree 100% with some of these posts, i can also say i disagree at least a little bit with others and disagree 100% with others as well. i dont think we should blame steph, i think that we should blame the rat who posted the story all over the internet. i mean, steph trusted him/her, and he/she betrayed that trust. i’ve been betrayed by “friends” before–although not nearly as bad as this–so i can kind of understand, and i’m sure others can too. it makes me sad that this person would do something so low without a thought for how much this would hurt so many people–not only steph, but all her fans waiting rabidly for this book to come out. its not fair to anyone. just so that this person could have 20 minutes of glory for giving fans what they wanted doesnt mean that it will all be well and good forever. basically, i think that steph should take off time as she needs, write some other stuff, and then when she feels comfortable (and the betrayer sends her a nice gift basket as 0.0000000001% of an apology to make it up to her) with the series again, then she can write midnight sun again.

so there are my thoughts, written down after i have calmed down and can think rationally again.

btw, niamh, i live in ohio in the usa, so we’re apparently a few hours apart……….it was only about 5:00 when i was on here last =)

I have died on the inside. I can’t even describe this feeling in words. We need to support Stephenie!!! She must keep writing!

See here’s the thing. I feel bad that someone betrayed her, but what just gets under my skin is that just because one person put it out she is taking away the pleasure of reading it from the rest of her fans. That person wasn’t thinking about the fans and nor did they have to, but it is Stephenie’s job to. She should suck it up and fulfill her promise to finish it to her fans. She doesn’t have to do it right away, but she should do it eventually.

  • The♥Other♥Cullen:

ARGH! I haven’t read it yet, Stephenie! I refuse to read something that isn’t official. Please continue!

  • Jasperlove:

I wish she would not say indefinatly because there are millions of people in this world who love Stephenie and she should not make them pay for what a few people did…I am so sad and mad at Step!!!
