What does the cover mean?
Breaking Dawn’s cover is a metaphor for Bella’s progression throughout the entire saga. She began as the weakest (at least physically, when compared to vampires and werewolves) player on the board: the pawn. She ended as the strongest: the queen. In the end, it’s Bella that brings about the win for the Cullens.

I always wondered what the cover meant. I once thought that it meant Jacob won Bella over, where as Bella fell “out of love” with Edward. I’m a Team Edward person, but my mom thought this up and it was kind of a go-with-the-cover thing. I don’t know. Weird conclusion. But I think the REAL meaning is better.

I think that’s really cool. At first (I don’t know all the Chess pieces) so I thought the “Queen” was Edward, while the “Pawn” was Jacob.
At the very end of the page (on her website), Steph wrote, “I have several other stories that I’ve been waiting to work on. At this moment, I’m torn between two, but I’m planning to commit to one of them very soon.” Which means that VERY SOON, she is going to start another series or something like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i never thought of the cover explained that way. it’s very touching and the relationship between bella and edward really touched my heart. i may be young, but Omgg some things in that book made me cry. yea, i know. i’m a sucker for love stories. lol.
Did you guys see the last question, and her answer to it? She was asked if she planned to continue with the Twilight universe and she said, “I think I need a break from vampires. At this exact point in time, I don’t feel like I will go back to Forks.” She doesn’t want to go back. Now isn’t that ironic considering just two days previously she said that she was putting Midnight Sun on hold indefinatey? Something fishy is going on there. And I still think that she just didn’t want to write it anymore.
I am so sad! I want the meadow scene with Edward’s POV! =[ I hope she answers my message on myspace soon, wish me luck guys! I am so sad! She said she never wanted to let the characters go. That she wasn’t ready yet

thats an awsome meaning….i did think at first that they were Edward and Jacob until my Husband pointed out that the white piece is a Queen…then i understood it to be Bella…but i thought the Pawn was the Voltouri…i was almost right…but its all good…that is a really awsome meaning for the cover!
oh, and i believe that she’ll come back to Midnight Sun, she just needs time to get back in the mood to write it is all. have faith in her fellow Twilighters!

That makes me have a little bit of hope that she might come back to the twilight universe… I’m crossing my fingers that maybe she will change her mind and come back to write midnight sun… but if not maybe she will just write another book from Reneesme’s perspective. =]]]
I hoped that she would leave an open end like in ‘The Lady or the Tiger’ for this series. Oh well- looks like she has no choice now but to ruin it for some of us. I hate the idea of Midnight Sun, in case you couldn’t tell
