Yes, Stephenie did some research for the names. She said so. At first she called Rosalie “Carol” and Jasper “Ronald” XD I wouldn’t have liked those named.

“Bella” also means “Beauty” in Italian, which is quite well known but I’ve always loved this fact nonetheless. For her, it is definitive completely.
