I went and saw the movie and loved it. I thought they did a great job with what they were given. Also, the changes they made worked great for the movie. Plus, they were so minor it didnt even matter.
No offense but why are all of you complaining about the cheesiness of the movie? I love the books but they are 10x more cheesy then that movie could ever be. Half the line were taken straight from the book and so were the scenes. So if the cheesiness ruined the movie for you. How can you love the book so much?

hmm i kind of agree with sky. it wasnt the best film in the world but it was still good in some ways, but it was too choppy. like sky said, if you didnt know the book the movie wouldnt make any sense at all. and some parts were really cheesy, especially the context/scene in which they used, "and so the lion fell in love with the lamb..." i was a bit disappointed about that. also, it is kind of true that kristen stewart looked like she was always in pain... but yeah. i guess this being a low-budget film, it's alright. ohh and like actually, there was a lot of laughing because of how they did some scenes and stuff; especially the sparkly skin... that was like he had millions of small white hairs that shawn in the light. funniest thing was seeing stephanie meyer in the movie, haha.

It's not mean it's true, and every single person that was in the theater with me thought so too...you should have heard us laughing hysterically, maybe then you'd believe me.

They didn't make it clear why Bella and Edward love each other, they didn't spend any time at all setting up that relationship. The movie lacked sustenance, and it relied too heavily on the fact that most people watching it have read the book. If you'd watched it without reading the books I really don't think you'd say 'OME, that was soooo amazing. It was the best movie EVER'

"But much of what made the relationship between Edward and the smitten Bella Swan work in Meyer's breezy book has been stripped away on screen. The funny, lively banter — the way in which Edward and Bella teased and toyed with one another about their respective immortality and humanity — is pretty much completely gone, and all that's left is a slog of adolescent angst.

If you're coming into this material cold, though, you will be seriously baffled as to what the fuss is all about, and that becomes glaringly obvious in the way Hardwicke has staged her action sequences. When Edward leaps from one spot to another to show off his physical prowess, or when he races through the forest with Bella strapped to his back, it looks distractingly jumpy and false. (The moment when he sparkles in the sunlight looks especially cheesy.)

There's nothing transporting about the visuals. "Twilight" was a famously low-budget production compared to most traditional blockbusters, but this is ridiculous.

It doesn't help that, as Bella, Kristen Stewart looks singularly sullen the entire time. She's supposed to be enraptured by the thrills of her first love. Instead, she merely appears to be in the throes of pain. Sure, they can feel like the same thing when you're a teenager, but Stewart's one-note performance makes it difficult to get swept away by Bella's forbidden, romantic adventure."
