MTV talks about New Moon movie with Catherine

MTV talks to director Catherine Hardwicke about New Moon movie:
“I would say that the film could be finished by the end of 2009, if not the beginning of 2010; cameras could be rolling in about five months,” Hardwicke said of her March/April timetable, should she return to helm the pic. “We spent about a year and three months getting ['Twilight'] ready, between writing the script and casting. We could probably do things a little bit faster this time, but who knows? It depends. And sometimes you can do things really fast. You can get two editors on, and you can just zip through.”

i feel the same way…hopefully it will be out by next christmas…the cast isn’t going to stay the same age forever.
ok.. I am definitely Team Edward, but you can’t have Edward a lot in New Moon. Or “bulk up” his part for that movie just because thats where the fan base is. The longing and sadness with Edward gone for the first half, builds for the second half when he returns-which enriches their relationship later on.
Argh… anyways I will be sad if they put him in it more just for the sake of more Edward. I like it when they are true to the books.
YAY For New Moon Mondays. Can we get those going next week? haha.

Oh this is sooo unfair! They’re talking abou New Moon and I haven’t even seen Twilight yet – 19 more days!!! I haven’t been on here in yonks ’cause I’m steering clear of all the tempting Twilight news. Obviously I’ve buckled!!! Well I really hope they do New Moon. And better sooner than later – It’s ok for the “humans” to age but the vamps can’t.
I agree with you Caitlyn. She’s speaking about adding Edward throughout the movie, which I think is a big mistake. It wouldn’t have the same impact as the book. I am totally team edward. But we still don’t know if Catherine is going to be the director. Maybe Summit is taking to account the critics from the fans. Well I guess we will see

idc what they do with edward,,, i think they should put clips of him hunting down victoria, or like suffering bc hes gone from bella, but i really hope hes not gone for like the hole movie, even though he should be i dont want him to be bc i absolutely love rob.!

guys thinking her adding edward thruout the movie is good bc if you remember bellas voices in her head of edward were them so maybe thats what she means. either way hailie your so right it is the movie not the book. cathrine is a director where stephenie is an author. they are two both amazing people that created amazing things twilight fans love. :]

I think they should take Rob out of it especially for the people who have’nt read twilight or new moon cuz with edward gone It’ll make it so more better the audience will actually feel the huge life changing heartbreak bella endures. Also about the director catherine,i think shes kool it’s the screenwriter who made the sqript.She should have made the scenes more longer instead of making them so dang short that the audience feels motion sickness. as for the whole age problem i agree they should hastily do the whole vampire scenes.

Cant waite for it I will have to see it Twice though so I can get it all in.
they might do something with perhaps the outtakes that was on stephenie’s Rosalie take outs. the part where she says hes been sitting in an attic debating on whether or not to go back to forks. that would be reasonable i think. i think we should see some of his pain too.
OMG Gaspard Ulliel should be in the volturi! PLus no karate! That will ruin the movie.
Well Hallie, it says in the beginning and the end of this article that it’s not a for sure thing that Catherine will direct this movie, and I quote:
These questions — and many more — will undoubtedly be answered in the next five months. But before the “New Moon” cameras can begin rolling, the most important one is whether Hardwicke will have the opportunity to make her vampire magic again.
“Where’s my crystal ball? I need a crystal ball, I need a fortune teller,” the director laughed. “I hope [I make 'New Moon'], but you just have to see if everything can work out. I don’t know.”
i really wish that it won’t be a Bella and Jacob movie all the way considering that Edward is gone halfway thru new moon…but i wish wat they could do is that do some extra parts of Edward and wat he’s doing and stuff like being lonely wo/his Bella bcause if it was Jacob and Bella all thru the movie I would be pissed!!
Plus I want the movie to have enough time w/Edward not Bella and Jacob and Jacob and Bella cause that’ll be annying…for me at least!! But anyways hope catherine does a good job and make it a little more like the book this time…just a tad bit…

they can still have Edward in the film, i mean, have is voice speaking to bella like in the story. where he warns her about thing. i mean u still have edward but it is not taking away from the book. p.s. I LOVE YOU LARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
i guess your right Brandi but I also want to see Edward’s face and not just his voice throughout the movie….knda add like outtakes and stuff so it’s not just Jacob and Bella the whole way….
but….i really really hope that new moon would be good or better that good actually.
catherine should stick to the book. i know that she’ll do an amazing job like what she did for twilight. omg i will feel bella’s depression when he leaves….it’s gonna be so miserable…but good!

Lee–i saw the casting information and it said in bold, catherine hardwicke is officially signed on to direct the sequal to twilight, new moon.
to bring back Edward not only his voice but his form, i could see that she would start seeing him when she pushes her limits. or sees him when hes not there, like in the crowd. having him there but not really. Also if they don’t bulk up the action scenes and make them more suspenseful it will be hard for me to see a Eclipse or braking dawn being made. There needs to be more visual effects to draw in a larger crowd. Especially more of the guys, most that i talk to say that twilight was a let down in that department. i have to agree, i want more action and can’t wait to see how they do the werewolf transformations.
I hope they don’t rush it – rushed sequels very rarely match up to the first film… They should take a realistic amount of time and do it well – what’s the point in them having it out in double-quick time if the fans hate it?

I agree with Laura and Twinkie….
We don’t have 5 hours to work with (which we all would love) so we can’t set up the mood that New Moon (in novel form) gives us if we keep interrupting the story with flashes of what Edward is up to….
Besides…. If we set it up as flashes of Bella’s insanity (caused by Edward’s gut-wrenching, heart shattering absence) and have her randomly see him places, hear his voice and maybe dreaming of him (in short bursts) then it would be that much more thrilling and an awesome relief for us as movie goers when we see him shirtless under the clock tower looking like a sexy piece of glitter dust covered white chocolate…..
Let’s not sacrifice the grandness of the Volturi scenes for random Edward check-ups in the beginning…. The goodness that is Pattinson will arrive full force in the end my dear Twilighters…..and a max of an hr of Rob only in crazy Bella illusions will be satisfying enough while still keeping the lonely desolate feel of the book until the end…
That’s just my opinion….

i rather them take their time. the chracters aging is no big deal. its called makeup people. but i would love if they spent lots of money on this next one because the previous one was a low budget movie and they made so much profit….
