First Post!…I think. umm…I’m not sure if I’m liking Chris Weitz as the director. As I have said somewhere else on the site, his stuff hasn’t impressed me all that much. But, who knows, maybe he’ll do amazing.

Umm I didn’t like The Golden Compass at all and I havene’t seen anything else from this guy, but I hope he does New Moon justice! I personnally LOVED catherine and wiish she was the one to direct new moon. Because i think that series shouldn’t change directors half way through…each director has a different vision and take on the story. I dont knwo what to think…I’m gjust going to wait and see and hope he does good! :P

about a boy was good… others, ok… who knows, maybe this will be better than we think… with all us religious fans he may feel the pressure to deliver well above our hopes. so do we know if new moon and eclipse are still being filmed back to back?

also…. maybe thats why the budget is so low, if the two films are being lumped together in filming and effects, editing, ect… that may account for a low budget.. (two films in one) All together adding up to 100mil… that might make sense if you look at it that way…

In an odd way it would have been cool to see someone like Joel Schumacher or Tim Burton direct New Moon. Think how they could portray Bella’s depression. I didn’t care for the Golden Compass at all.

I never read the Golden Compass or wherever the movie is adapted from but I can’t see what’s not to like.. I enjoyed it a lot..

Either way, I’m a bit nervous like everyone else yet excited to see if he can make something great out of the next movie.

he could be good I mean I’ve seen some of his films and I liked them like american pie lol and other stuff but I just wished they had a female director because a male director I just don’t think could capture the romance and passion that good =/

I hope this guy also doesn’t pull an alfonso curon(or how ever you spell his name) on us and totally change the movie. You know, harry potter 3, the only harry potter movie to not gross like 400 million.

    NOOO!
I hated The Golden Compass, I’m terrified he’d wreck it!!!
I totally agree with Jaclyn, they need a woman for this I think.
I guess, I hate the book though (compared to the others) so it wouldn’t kill me so much if it wasn’t great.

PS Only 1 week til Twilight comes out in the UK!!! YAY!!!

I wish all of you would start admitting to yourselves what a terrible job Melissa and Catherine did with the Twilight book. It was completely wrong. The only thing done right was Rob and Kristen’s chemistry. Brilliant. Other than that, the story we all know and love was completely cheated. As lovers of the book, we should all be more than thrilled at the notion of a new director and screenwriter who will perhaps create an adaptation that actually proves one of them READ the damn book more than once, as we all have. To create these movies properly, we need a team of producers who have a passion for this story as we do… not just an excitement for ‘vampire flicks’ and a salivating reaction to dollar signs.

Twilight grossed a ridiculous amount of money for Summit, even though it was a very poor representation of the novel. What incentive do they have to spend that money on New Moon when they know so many fans of this series just rubber stamp anything as wonderful even if it really stinks? If the studio had any integrity, they’d put plenty of money into New Moon and do it right; unfortunately, the name of the game seems to be GREED….and as long as they know we’ll go see it and say it’s great, even if it’s not, they will do a crappy job, take their money, and run.
