Rumors have been flooding the internet on who will be the new cast members in New Moon movie. For the role of Leah Clearwater two particular names have stood out: Vanessa Hudgens and Brenda Song.
I think this is highly unlikely since they are both too short for the role – both measuring 5′ 2″ or 1.57 m – and with the whole Taylor Lautner is too short thing.
What do you guys think?

ok so brenda song COULD NOT be leah. i know she’s capable of not being perky but seriously that would be a joke if she was. no one would take her seriously. and vanessa could pass for the lovelorn leah and make the pack suffer from her unrequitted love for sam uley.. but i highly doubt she can play the fierce leah in the other books. i mean come on vanessa hudgens going after newborns… yeah no. but i could see her as a vamp. but more so the one that gets killed for saying information to the volturi before she was sure of an immortal child. now THAT would be worth watching. and she would only be seen in one movie. the last one. where they hardly concentrate on her until they kill her. now seriously i would love to see that one happen ^_^

Alright, don’t mind that the 2 girls under scrutiny are Disney, but they do not fit the character for Leah or Jane as some had said. I think Q’orianka Kilcher (from New World) for Leah and actually Kristin Chenoweth (from Pushing Daisies, with dark hair) for Jane. She’s 4 feet 11″ and very child like, even her voice. Those are my fantasy choices

Brenda Song is Thai-American. Leah Clearwater is a Quileute Indian. Then there is Vanessa Hudgens. EWWW. I really think that is a bad move because she is trashy and personally what I’ve heard makes me not like her in the least bit. I would be very disappointed if she was casted as Leah. If I was given the choice, I would cast Genevieve Cortese. But out of the two given choices I would choose Brenda Song.
I think Q’orianka Kilcher would be a perfect Leah, she did amazing in The New World as Pocahontas. What do you guys think?
Ehn. I’m not taking either of these rumors to heart. High profile stars, like Vanessa, constantly have casting rumors swirling around them. Vanessa has been rumored to be in a version of ‘The Dreary and the Naughty’ and ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ this past year and neither have been true. Besides, remember all those Batman casting rumors? Or that Zac Efron was going to be in POTC 4?
I’ll wait till we get the green light on the casting before making a judgment.

i think these to actresses are better fitted for the Disney channel type roles, or at least right now in they’re careers. I just REALLY can’t see either one of them playing anyone from the books in the movies, and I doubt any characters would need to be created.

While I agree that neither of them should get the role I think that Vanessa is good enough and has the right background (Spanish, Chinese, Filipino, Spanish, Native American) to get the part.
