I work at a Best Buy and I can pretty much guarantee you that Twilight will be out on a Tuesday. ALL new release DVDs come out on Tuesdays. I do believe it’ll be in March though, so it’s more likely the 17th or 24th. Once in a while, DVDs will come out on Friday or Sunday if it’s near a holiday, but never on a Saturday.

I reserved my copy last night at Sam Goody. I was surprised at how quick this is all coming! The movie’s still in theaters and less than 3 months from now we’ll have the dvd!!!!!!! This is AWESOME!

March 21st is a Saturday…Usually new DVD releases come out on a Tuesday. Just an FYI!

i work at best buy as well i can also guarentee that this will not be released march 21st because it is a saturday and not a tuesday. all new releases come out on tuesdays except like the other person stated, around the holidays. take eagle eye, for example.
anyway, i read somewhere that they were making an attempt to put it out be valentine’s day but i find that really unlikely since that is about a month from now. but they did release the cover art for the dvd! so that says a little something!!

by the way! someone asked what the difference would be between the regular dvd that will most likely sell for $14.99 at most retailers, and the 2-disc special edition dvd that i would guess is going to be priced at either $22.99 or $24.99 (take note that these are first week sale prices, after that it’s likely that the regular movie will be $19.99 and the 2-disc special edition will cost you $30!! so get them quick!) Anyway, in an interview director Catherine Hardwicke stated that there will be 12 deleted scenes featured on the dvd. now i’ve watched the harry potter movies come out and tons of other movies come out as well and usually the only extra features come on the special edition versions of the movies.
so basically, if all you’re looking for is the film itself, go with the $14.99 regular dvd version.
if you’re looking for dvd commentaries, a gag reel, deleted scences, behind the scenes footage, the making of twilight, ect. then i suggest getting the 2-disc special edition.

Yeah, I agree with Sarrah. I work at Best Buy and I have never had a movie come out on a Saturday. I’ve had Fridays ( only because that Tuesdays was a holiday) and I’ve had Sundays, but never a Saturday. If it was going to come out any time around then it would have to be March 17th or the 24th…here’s hoping to the 17th!!

FYI for those that say it is not coming out on the 21st of March need to fact check. The author has it on her website as the release date. It is a special release date and will not be released on a Tuesday like normal!

Yeah! Movies are released on Tuesdays! So is thr date the 29th? I preordered the dvd on amazon–when would it be released?

I work at Hollywood Video, and the date is right, they sometimes release movies on seperate days if they think it is going to be too big to release on Tuesday with the rest of the movies. Of course Twilight is the most antisipated DVD this year so Saturday ensures that most everyone can bum rush their local stores to buy it and there are some midnight sales for it that probably need to be on the weekend for obvious reasons. You should hate anyone that works at a video store because we get the DVDs about a week ahead of time so I already pre-ordered it, I’ll be getting my copy the 18th or so =D Yay! Go pre-order it though, we are trying as much as we can to get people to do so, everywhere will be sold out quickly and then you will have to wait and wait for a copy and that will suck… Most places, like Hollywood Video allows you to put like $5.00 down to pre-order it then pay the rest when you pick up your copy.

So…I found out somehow (i can’t remember how) that on the special features there’s a scene that they filmed, only its from Midnight Sun. Now, I know Midnight Sun is essentially the same as Twilight, I just think it will be really cool to see a scene from Edwards POV.

Not to put a crimp in things but I doubt that is the correct release date for Twilight on DVD. New movies are always released on Tuesdays and the 21st is a Saturday. Maybe they will deviate from the norm, but have never seen them released on any other day but Tuesday.

I LOVE working for Hollywood Video I got my copy on Friday, March 13rd, not bad luck to me! lol I actually paused the apecial features to write this… and colleen… like i said in an earlier post… they do in fact release movies on friday saturday and sometimes even sundays, depending on how they think the movie is going to sell… for everyone that doesn’t have a sweet hook up like me, make sure to pre-order your copy so you can get it on the 21st!!!
