USA Today has two new articles, on Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight Saga
Stephenie Meyer sold more books in 2008 than any other author (22 million, according to her publisher) and did what no else — not even J.K. Rowling — has done in the 15 years of USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list:
She swept the four top slots in 2008′s best sellers with her Twilight series about a romance between a girl (mortal) and boy (vampire).
Stephenie is the best author of this generation and the Twilight saga is very capturing and magical i am so glad she wrote them!

You know i’m happy for Stephanie, but the one thing that makes me mad is when everyone compares everything to J.K. Rowling. I’m a HUGE HP fan but you shouldn’t compare any book to each other b/c most characters have different background and most characters (no matter what book you read) act different then other characters in other stories. so i just wish everyone in the world would just stop b/c it so stupid.
but now that my rambling has stopped i’d like to say congrats again, and go check out a song for New Moon written by Hana Pestle called “Need”

As an older reader and obsessed fan I just want to thank Stephanie Meyer for writing the books – from the moment I picked up Twilight I couldn’t quit reading them multiple times. They might be in the young adult section but I think they appeal to all ages. The details and emotions in the books keep you going over them time and again. I’ve seen the movie many times – wish I could go to Rome to see it filmed. It’s amazing Stephanie had the top 4 books of the year! My main question to Stephanie, where did Edward come from? He’s dazzling!!!!

I agree with kblackwell7. I hate that they keep comparing Twilight to HP. To me, they are two completely different types of books, and I love them both. Plus, it always seems like they’re putting SM in JKR’s shadow, but anyways congrats Steph! We love you!

you know what else bug me too? when other people put down other series of book like “screw harry potter” my perspective is: why put down another series of books, when people are interested in different things? some people are interested in magic and wizards and witches, but they may not vampires and werewolves so why put down another series when people are different in likes and dislikes?
*and yes i know HP fans put down Twilight too, but this goes for fans of either series*

I’m so happy for her! She deserves it so much. I always go on amazon, it’s like a daily ritual, and there’s always Breaking Dawn, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse on the best sellers list. In that order, last time I checked.
