Popstar has a new interview with Lucas Grabeel & 14241 Productions where he clears up the Alec rumor:
PopStar: Lucas, do you care to comment on the rumors that you will be playing Alec in New Moon?
Lucas: Yeah, my girlfriend told me that the other day. I think that is funny, none of that is actually true. I have not auditioned and have not been approached.

I would love for chris to keep the tradition cathrine did and hire the new up and comers for new moon so disney stars. we want huge talented “no names” people who have the talent and just need the breakm who love and have passion for the story like we do! that’s what we really want! to someone like us who loves these stories who lives and breathes twilight.. ok well not to that extrem but someone who is already passionate and hungry for a great story like this!
