MyParkMagazine has a new article about Rob not getting paid the $12million for New Moon:
Robert Pattinson isn’t being paid $12m (£8.1m) for being in New Moon. Rob has been forced to defend himself after various websites suggested that he is getting paid megabucks for playing Edward Cullen.
The British actor told the BBC: “I read some gossip thing saying, because I looked really uncomfortable in a paparazzi photo or something, they’re like, ‘He should get used to it. That’s the price to pay if you’re getting $12m (£8.1m) a movie’.
“If I’m getting paid $12m a movie I’d walk around naked. That’s all nonsense. I don’t know who makes that stuff up. Even the price for the first one was nonsense.”
Rob loves playing Edward Cullen and is excited about the other Twilight movies. He added: “I went into it doing it as a trilogy. They’re shooting the second one in March. I’m not really in it that much in the second one.
“The lead character is somebody else, which is another reason why I’m not being paid $12m. I’ve got two scenes.”

actually, they are probably splitting it up into two movies – maybe (that would make better sense given how long the book was). otherwise, i’ll be mad if they do away with the whole voltouri thing and all that.

Ahhh I don’t even want to speculate!…MAYBE he was under exaggerating …maybe they are really really long scenes, maybe he was just frustrated and said the first thing that popped into his pretty little head.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him make this comment before. I think it’s an old quote that they’re posting as a new article – it’s very common. So I wouldn’t freak out just yet! There’s no way he can only do two scenes, I think it was just a number to show that his time will differ from the first one – which is very true.

I’m sure he’s exaggerating a little. It probably went something like “oh I’m only in 2 scenes anyway”. If I were to talk about the book out loud I would probably say the same thing. I’m sure it’s the big scene at the end and other little things.
Plus, we all knew this would happen anyway! It’s a long book and the bulk of it is not Edward.

Woah, woah, calm down. Rob is known to exaggerate the nature of things on occassion–he’s an artist; it’s what he does. When he said “two scenes” he’s just emphasizing how much smaller a role he will play in NM. He only meant that he is essentially only in the two “bookends” of the story: the beginning, and the end.
I read somewhere that if you divide up the dialogue for each character in New Moon, the total “screen time” for Jacob/Bella moping and playing versus Edward/Bella angst is essentially in a 3.5 to 1 ratio, anyway. That means that in a 2-hour film, 93 minutes (ish) belong to Jacob/Bella’s arc, and only about 30 belong to Edward/Bellaness. In the grand scheme, Rob’s right. It’s a fairly small bit of work for him time-wise. Emotionally, though, he’ll have to really push himself. It will be a tough role for him in that sense.
Oh, and if he wants to walk around naked, I think we Twilighters could scrape up about $12mi cash, if we all pitched in, right?

I’m pretty sure the 12 million reports came out around November and he made a statement like this then. I think they’re taking old statements and making new articles about them (it happens a lot) – so I wouldn’t take it too seriously.

I hope they still KEEP Bella’s illusions of Edwards voice…..it’ll help keep us a little sane while not seeing Edward throughout the movie. That way, we can still hear that sexy voice of Rob throughout the movie.
Haynsoljah i think the bit you’re referring to is when she starts to hear Edward when she is doing anything risky i hope they keep it it adds to the storyline. but yes Rob is right he probably will only have a couple scenes max here are the few i can think of – bellas birthday party, when he leaves, the scenes with the Volturi in Italy, when he returns to Forks at the end of the book add it all up and it adds to more screen time for Taylor than Rob

Wouldn’t that exclude like…everything?In the cliff diving scene she actually sees him. The other hallucinations could just be voice over, so I guess that shouldn’t count. But what if they went straigh to the bday scene in the beginning then right to the leaving scene? And then the Volturi, no explanation…gah. I’m dying here.

Um none of the cast is allowed to tell anything about the script..especially how many scenes they have and um especially Rob cause Edwards the lead..um yeah…did anyone think that he could be lying…theres WAY more parts in the book that Edwards in at the very beginning and then the end so it’s not only 2 scenes..if the movie is SO close to the book as they’re saying then it’s not only two scenes.
if nobody noticed…Rob over exaggerates & lies about alot of things purposely and then we find out it’s not true..all of the cast does it..so that they don’t leak any REAL details.

Chris Weitz doesn’t have the authority to put Edward more into the movie, director or not. The only one who has that authority is the screen writer Melissa Rosenberg..and seriously..people need to stop reading into things and look at the facts..the cast is not allowed to disclose any real info so he could very well be lying.

One other issue is that if you are in a scenario where you will not have a co-signer then you may want to try to exhaust all of your money for college options. You will find many grants or loans and other scholarship grants that will give you money to help with classes expenses. Thanks alot : ) for the post.
