In an Entertainment Weekly article Summit Entertainment clarified that they have no plans to cast Madonna in New Moon. There is a chance though that Madonna may provide some songs for the sequel.
Widespread Internet chatter that Madonna may participate in some capacity in the Twilight sequel, New Moon, may be only partly true, a source close to the production tells EW. Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the movie series, has no plans to cast the pop star and sometime actor in New Moon. However, because Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, is a producer on the project, there is some talk of her providing songs for the sequel. Still, no deals have been made yet, and the plans haven’t progressed beyond the that’d be cool stage.

I don’t really like the turn the soundtracks are taking; the twilight soundtrack was awsome but having Madonna in it isnt really anything to do with it. For example Muse were in the twilight one because Stephenie was inspired by them. In my opinion I don’t like the idea what so ever.

I dont know if i can handle her on the Soundtrack. i might have to transfer all the songs onto my computer, make my own disc without her on it! IU absolutely hate her and i agree she is waaaay to old to be in the movie.

Thank GOD she won’t be in the movie!! AndI don’t know HOW she could contribute to the soundtrack. All the music I heard from her couldn’t “fit” with the series at all.

I’m not saying I’m for Madonna being on the soundtrack. But, come on, if Catherine Hardwicke and co. did a relatively good job on Twilight, I’m sure Chris Weitz and co (much of the same production team, actually) will do fine.
