Eclipse movie release date: June 30th 2010!

Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Summit-Ent has just scheduled the release date for the Eclipse movie for June 30th 2010:

EXCLUSIVE: I’ve confirmed there’s no director hired yet. And the two productions won’t be back-to-back. But that hasn’t stopped Summit Entertainment from newly scheduling its Twilight threequel for release on June 30, 2010, not long after its Twilight sequel New Moon set for November 20th this year now being helmed by Chris Weitz. Summit also officially changed the name of its vampire movie franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling series of novels to The Twilight Saga. Here’s how Summit descibes the plot of the threequel Eclipse:

“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”

OMJB I just txtd all my friends and added the date to my calendar in my phone!!! I can’t wait!!! Eclipse is my favorite in the whole saga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE the Fire and Ice chapter and the one after that when Bella FINALLY realizes she’s in love with Jacob too!! I just hope they don’t rush the filming too much. I am so glad I’m not going to have to suffer for over a year after New Moon (like I was beginning to think I would have to) waiting for Eclipse! I want the movie to be good though and not rushed.

    i cant believe it!!! thats like an 8 month gap from new moon to eclipse, not even a year!!! thats amazing n somewhat worrying. honestly, if they try to rush it, it can get disappointing to fans. i hope they dont put too much pressure on the actors. plus i hope the new director is up to the challenge.

    Right on! I’m seriously hoping the entire cast stays with all four…I couldn’t bare to see any of them replaced…I’m still reeling over the rumor that Robert doesn’t want to do the fourth movie :( I do hope that was something he was just saying!

    All I am saying is that this BETTER NOT turn out how the 6th Harry Potter did! I hope they stick to their word and don’t move the date of the release 8 montsh LATER! AHH I am still so mad about that! GOD! But, I think Twilight is 10000x better than HP anyways… so I think they can pull it off.

    I don’t know. I’m super excited that they realeased the date and if they really gt their butts in gear and film them both together like they say they are going to, it could happen *fingers crossed* I really hope they do Breaking Dawn tho. I’m really interested to see how they pull that one off – I really want to see Bella as a vampire, especially the entire chapter “First Hunt”
