MTV Movies Blog has an article about the good and bad with the release date of ‘Eclipse’.
Okay, Twilighters, here’s the good news: You’ve made it to prime time. The release date is in late June, prime tentpole territory typically reserved for the likes of Will Smith, superheroes and hundred-million-dollar Michael Bay movies. No more of these November, let’s-hope-we-catch-the-teens-while-they’re-home-for-the-holidays release dates for you guys. In fact, a quick peek at the 2010 release schedule shows that “Eclipse” will be butting heads with such heavyweights as “Prince of Persia,” “Toy Story 3” and Jackson Rathbone’s “The Last Airbender.”
Unfortunately, there’s also some bad news: Eyebrows were raised among the fans when the “New Moon” release date was announced as being a year after “Twilight” arrived in theaters. Now, “Eclipse” will hit screens a mere seven months after “New Moon.” Figuring in the roughly three months that Chris Weitz required to prepare the second film, that gives the director of the third movie barely four months to shoot it, edit it, get the special effects up to speed and put the film in theaters.

Ok well i think they should give chris or whatever talented director about another year for eclispe. Potter movie take about a year each. Come on summit!!! Think Baout it!!!

personally, as long as it comes out it can be alittle late…i agree, i dont think rushing will benefit the movie, or for that matter do this masterpiece of a love story the justice it deserves….

the news are awesome. not a long wait! I just hope they don’t skimp on quality for the sake of the time.
we cant do anything about it now, all we can do is hold a breath and hope summit doesnt screw this up for everyone

Dang. I was going to see The Last Airbender too. Yay for Avatar fans. Anyways, I think as long as they don’t rush the movie, and that they make it as good as the books and other movies, then I have nothing to worry about. An earlier release date isn’t a bad thing if they proceed like normal.
with all the money we twilighters r giving summit by buying merch and stuff i bet they r pretty much sleeping in it, and that also means that they probably afford 2 speed things up, but i just hope it doesn’t suck. it also wouldn’t hurt if they made the movies a lil longer =]. just 2 do the book justice.

I think that they should release Eclipse on June 20th because that’s our Edward Anthony Cullens birthday isn’t it?!?!
im actually glad the movie eclipse is so soon after new moon becuz then we fans wont have to wait in agony so long
i guess that it is a good thing since the characters won age much but if there is gonna only be 4 months to do all that then i wish them luck..

well… we were all warned awhile ago that New Moon and Eclipse were gonna be shot back-to-back, what i didn’t expect was that Eclipse was going to come out so fast and at such a hot time as June! But im not worried at all about New Moon’s or Eclipse’s performance in theaters, i really think that the twilight phenomenon has yet to peak.
As long as New Moon makes me cry so much that i’ll look like a rasin coming out of the theater from the loss of water, and makes me squeal and scream when edward returns, (and i really hope they portray when Edward protects Bella from Jane… oh my god… that part just makes me ooze into a puddle of admiration…uh… sorry) then new Moon will be just.
And i really want to get freaked out in Eclipse during the fight scene. I want that to be as gory as possible. And i want to see Bella try to seduce Edward! Ha! Thats a gonna be classic.
but, i cant help but to wonder if they’ll make Breaking Dawn. And to you twilighters that didn’t like Breaking dawn, come on, dont you want BD to be made, just a little bit? I mean, they can’t just leave us hanging in Eclipse? And they sure as HELL aint gonna have some gay epilogue thing, narrated by bella, with her sweet little singsongy vampire voice, saying how she got knocked uo with Renesmee, and how the Volutri ran away like the cowards they are, and how her and Edward had a happily ever after. No. that to me would be like Edward and Bella not being true soulmates.
i really dont like the whole rushing to get it into theaters. As much im gonna regret saying this later, i want to wait. Let us salivate and foam at the mouths for Eclipse. Its not like the actors are getting wrinkles! And they are starting to film only maybe after a month after New Moon is done! So let them take their time, and just wait. Patience is virtue!
(plus how many of ya’ll waited for the eclipse and breaking dawn BOOKS??? all i know is that i had a countdown thing goin on for both! So, many of us have already proved that we can be patient.)

i TOTOLLY agree with u poetess. and, who doesn’t like Breaking Dawn? i love that 1! the first time i read it i was going insane w/ suspense! i still get the chills when they describe bellas transformation*shudder*. i really wish they wouldn’t rush eclipse, so that way when it finally does come out we r even more anxious 2 c it.=]

I really hope they don’t screw up on it this time. I agree with the comment above memore time is better, but they must have realized tha by now…
at least wont have to wait a year for the eclipse but id rather wait longer and have a great film than have one thats been rushed and isn’t as good as it could have been
but they are filming back to back so it wont make any difference. its not as if he has to release new moon and then get crackin with filming and editing. he will have the filming all done at that point!!!!
I think that if they have 4 months to film, etc, it will still be done just as well, but the crew will have to work harder. Hey, does any1 know if they are making Breaking Dawn????? i heard rumours that they will not make it. If that is true…i’ll die, or something drastic like that.

i think that they all will rock! who cares about time they are all very motivated actors and the third will be as amazing as the first and the second…. i wonder if they are going to make a fourth a breaking dawn that would be very graphic but stilol cool… i hope new moon doesent make me cry and i think that eclipse is going to rockk..

So yea, I know you all LOVE the twilight saga, and so do I but three movies in two years is just idiotic. Think about the time and effort it goes into making movies like Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings, both book adaptations, that for the most part are not only succesful, but actually, really good. We need more time to make a good movie. Summit, is just getting greedy now that they have one movie, thats actually making them money. They are willling to make a bad movie because they know we will go watch it.
SHOT! I hope they will be able to finish it on time. I’m not worring though, I know they can do it!
They are starting new moon in about 2 weeks so that gives them about 6 months to film it. It will be 7 months after that when Eclipse hits theaters. I thought “WOW! Only 6-7 months to film a movie?” cuz when you look at others it took 2 years to make it. But New Moon might be easier to film, nothing really huge happens in it. I mean you know in Twilight is when Bella is starting to find out that Edward is a vampire but in New Moon Edward leaves and the reast is Bella being heart brocken. Oh wait I forget about the clif diving 
that is going to be interesting. Anyway I know they can do it 
because Twilight was AMAZING!

Poetess I am 75/100 with you. I mean Rob is going to be 23 soon and I am dieing waiting. I wish you were here to help me calm down you seem so calm talking about this. I nearly hit the roof when I heard about Eclipse in June. But I don’t want them to rush and make it sloppy so if I have to wait like 1 extra month I may live. I am 75% with you!
I really hope that Eclipse isn’t rushed… and I hope that they don’t push the release date back either. Honestly though, if they want Eclipse to be good, the movie should be just starting the pre-production stage right now…
Oh, and I agree that the movie should come out on June 20th for Edward’s birthday! (Of course, only twi-hards will understand that date.)

That’s ridiculous! The time frame for Eclipse is waaay too short and I almost guarantee you that movie won’t be very good. They’re totally ruining the movie I’ve been wanting to see because they’re greedy! How unfair. Please, if you guys could just spend a little more time on it and make it better than it would be with four months it would be a lot better on the big screen.

what’s the deal of them wanting to finish the movie so quickly? I don’t care waiting a year or 2 for it to come out. I personally think the production for New Moon began way too early. I mean, Twilight came out in November, now they’re shooting New Moon in March and are expecting to release Eclipse next June?
Sorry, I have no hopes at all for this franchise. I had HUGE faith in Twilight, then when I watched it it was half-ass. Now they’re using 3 different directors for the whole thing? Since when was that ever a good thing?
yeahh im kinda nervous about eclipse. i loved that book. it was amazingg. im pretty nervous at how quick itll come out. i do think they should wait a while.
