The truth was that I wanted to hear his voice again, like I had in the strange delusion Friday night. For that brief moment, when his voice came from some other part of me than my conscious memory, when his voice was perfect and honey smooth rather than the pale echo my memories usually produced, I was able to remember without pain. — Bella Swan, New Moon | Chapter 7

Catherine Hardwicke in talks for young-adult film ‘If I Stay’

EW.com has an article on Catherine Hardwicke coming back to Summit Ent to direct another young adult book adaptation:

Summit Entertainment is trying to make lightning strike twice. The studio behind the Twilight movie series has plans to adapt a buzzy young-adult novel called If I Stay with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke at the helm, EW has learned exclusively. The studio would not confirm the plan; a Summit insider said the parties are negotiating and a deal is not yet complete.

The book, from author/journalist Gayle Forman (Sisters in Sanity), doesn’t hit shelves until April 1 but was scooped up by Summit last month. The project centers on 17-year old musician Mia who, after a violent car accident, finds herself watching her damaged body taken from the wreck. She must decide whether or not she has the will to live.

It’s interesting that Hardwicke and Summit would team up again considering how the two parted ways after Twilight became a massive worldwide box office success. This reunion suggests that rumors of discord between the director and her studio may have been greatly exaggerated.

I hope this is fales. why?
cuz I want the info to be wrong. and that theyre actually in talks for her to direct ECPLISE….I don’t think I’ll be able to handle another new directer anxiety. we need to keep it close. catherine for eclipse. criss AND catherine for breaking dawn. HOPEFULLY they won’t try to overdue it like with eclipse and give just % months of shooting. it is ridiculous. Don’t they know that the anticipation BUILDS audiences?? OY!

  • Jaclyn:

I think catherine would be good for eclipse but she did take a long time with the first movie but I totally understand why because the weather sucked! but If chris weitz or w/e if he does really good on new moon then I say keep him if he does bad I say kick him out! bring back catherine then! =]

  • crystal aka leah:

i totolly agree w/ u amoremorte616.luv the name btw.i kinda want eclipse 2 come out at least a lil l8er, it doesn’t have 2 b rushed. and yeah they should just stick w/ chris or cat, enough w/ the monkey buisness.

  • Jacob_Black_fan:

Sounds like an interesting concept for a book (If I stay).

  • Emily:

that’s pretty cool.. but i agree with amoremorte616, it would be cool to have her direct eclipse, but then again, it’s the same problem as before – time. eclipse has even less time to shoot, 4 months! than new moon.. so i dunno if she’s even gonna consider it if that’s the case.. it would be cool though.

  • twilightkid12 (or Alice, cuz all my friends r changing their name....):

    i want 2 watch that!

  • Mrs.Cullen:

I sounds like a really good book, I’m definitely going to read it. I’d like it if Cathrine directed it, but I’d rather her be on board for Eclipse. (and Breaking Dawn if they make it.) I don’t think Chris will really have the same insight as Cathrine, considering the fact that he’s a man, and only men in books know what women want ;)
