Access Hollywood has an article in which they talked with Kristen’s father, John Stewart about why Kristen Stewart was not presenting with Robert Pattinson at the Oscars.
At Sunday night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards, “Twilight’s” vampire teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson was a presenter alongside “Mamma Mia” star Amanda Seyfried.
It left many wondering: where was his “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart?
Access’ Billy Bush got the answer on the red carpet, when he asked Kristen’s father, John Stewart, why she wasn’t presenting with Robert Pattinson.
John responded that Kristen would present at the Oscars, “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”
Artistic integrity at such a young age?!

I never liked Kristen Stewart since the start.
She can NOT act as Bella. She’s a good actress in other movies, I’ll give her that, but she doesn’t give a crap about Twilight. WORD FROM HER MOUTH: She doesn’t need to try to act in Twilight because when you’re in love, you don’t need to. WTF??? No wonder there was no passion in her scenes. She had the same expresssions throughout the whole movie, NO SMILES at all. And her line deliveries were just plain awkward!!
Especially the hospital bed scene when she sounded like she was having a seizure or orgasm. Uh uh, uh, Edward, don’t-don’t ever say that! You- you uh uh can’t say that to me!
Seriously. Find a better actress. And Kristen, practice on your interview skills because sometimes you say things that just gives yourself a bad image such as calling fan girls stupid.

Kristen Stewart is getting on my last damn nerve, and from the beginning I wished they had a different Bella. First of all, she probably DID say this because it is just the kind of snotty, better than everyone else attitude she ALWAYS has. She answers questions in interviews like the person asking them is an idiot and she has a general attitude that the whole Twilight thing gets on her nerves. She should stop to realize that she really isn’t that great an actress, so she should stop acting like she could do sooo much better. I mean smile every now and then. She also should realize that this whole Twilight thing is going to open up doors for her to be able to pick and choose what she wants to do creatively, a huge gift to true artists, so she should be grateful. And by the way, in case she hasn’t realized, we are in a recession and she should thank her lucky stars that she is so fortunate to be part of something that is financially successful. We make your paycheck possible sweetie. Show us some respect. This isn’t just about the Oscars, it is about many other comments and interviews as well. Get over yourself. And if it is such a bother to you, quit! I know I wouldn’t cry.
Yes, thank you. I am so sick of her. She acts like someone is forcing her to acknowledge Twilight. She has never read the books and could care less. She was horrible as Bella. She has a chip on her shoulder and i am beginning to realize where it came from. If she does not like this job why doesn’t she STEP ASIDE so someone worthy can have a shot. i watched the movie before i read the books =/..but the movie’s what made me want to read the books..
and when i read the books the movie didn’t look too great but it’s what made me read them in the first place[; so yeah ahha. the movie was absolutely lovely the books are better .. naturally . ahaha.

Translation: She wasn’t asked! Rob has the real star power. I don’t think they wanted her. She is only hurting her career by acting like an arrogant, spoiled brat. Her interview in Nylon magazine is really unbelievable. She totally trashed her fans.
I watched the movie first and it was so good it made me want to read all the books. I loved the movie and I loved Kristen and Rob in the movie but I didn’t like the comments her dad made.
We don’t know if she actually said that – she is a private person and is not comfortable with interviews. I can imagine that she would be extremely nervous to present. However, we all loved the Twilight movie because we loved the book. Was it a great movie? No. It could have been so much better. I went with 3 other people (who laughed all the way through) and I spent days defending the movie! I do enjoy her acting, her and Rob had great chemistry but the director could have done a better job. The scene of Edward sucking the venom out of Bella was hilarious – should have been a re-do. There was also not enough focus on their relationship. Don’t always believe all the articles either. So many times stars are misquoted. Give Kristen a break. She is young, learning and she is shy. And most of all, she is truthful. Even when we may not want to hear it.
ashley, well said. I am more than a little disenchanted by Kristen. But I will cope….Hoping she brings magic to the role in new moon. Portraying that kind of devastation isn’t easy. It takes a really good actress to make it look believable. We’ll see.

Daniel Craig, Jennifer Aniston, Natalie Portman, Will Smith, Jessica Biel, Danny Glover and Virginia Madsen (some were not even asked to present) all went and they weren’t nominated for anything but they didn’t have too much “artistic integrity” to go. They recognized that it’s an honor to be involved. I don’t think Kristen or her father can look down her nose on them esepecially if she keeps doing movies like American Pie remakes like Adventureland. Twilight has 10 times the depth that looks to have.

and when Rachelle says she “heard” it, she means from ppl who are actually involved in the choices being made for the movies.
Also, Mrs. Everarianas Edward Cullen, Rob has actually not complained about the fame at all.
What he DID say, was that he can’t understand why people like him so much. He thinks that he’s nothing special at all and that fans are just projecting their love of Edward onto him cuz he played him in the movie. He doesn’t even think he’s good looking. And he’s really shy. So, to sum it up, he’s just been bashing himself, not complaining about the fame. He’s too humble. And he’s too flabbergasted by it to really know what to think, let alone complain.

And he does it with a huge smile on his face. He’s never complained in interviews, either. Hell, he never even bitched about the stalker he had in Spain O.o. Maddie, I never said there was anything wrong with being 14 years old. I said that Kristen should have expected a young teen girl to ask that sort of question, cause, well, a lot of the fans are young teen girls! And that could include any teenager. I was just generalizing the age. I meant she should have expected teens to ask those kinds of questions, like “what was it like to kiss Rob?”. when she’s asked those questions repetitively, you have to remember that it’s not the same ppl asking it over and over again. It’s always at different interviews in different cities and sometimes in totally different countries. Fans usually wonder about similar things, so she should have known that would happen.

If you think that is true then you have not scene how great of an actress she is just because movies she been in movies that have not made money like Twilight dosent mean that she hasent made great movies . I have to say, as a fan site of Twilight, maybe this should never have been posted here. The words came from her father, and while I think she shares the same sentiments as him about Twilight, she wasnt the one that stated this publicly…Now when I watch the sequels I’m going to have the fact that she does not like her role in the back of my head, that’s going to ruin it for me. :[
Wow people just see something in print and believe it instantly – especially if its about Kristen. Rob has made comments about crazy fans but you think its adorable. He also stated that he will prefer New Moon because he’s not in it that much. If you wanted you could read something negative in that. I saw a video on access hollywood where Kristen says that Twilight puts her in a place that makes her have fun with her job. I would imagine she is dumbfounded by all the hype, as is Rob, which he did say to Ryan Seacrest at the oscars. So she turned down the oscars. Big deal. Maybe being a shy person, she was freaking out too much about presenting. Remember, she has been misquoted before and also things have been printed which she did not say. Let it go! I will anxiously await New Moon and enjoy watching her as Bella because Kristen protrays her perfectly and I will know she appreciates what what Twilight has given her.

Aiight twilighters dont start fighting! I agree with everyone for the most part. I dont think shes a good actress and someone else could do better. In her defense, it was her dad sayin this so we dont know if maybe thats his opinion or hers and probly the poor guy was so nervous they used it against him to twist his words. Okay since i am also a twilighter and this seems to be getting out of hand, i think i;ll chip in.
Now i am keeping an open mind here and i am going to say for both sides. Not good to be biased and an opinion is an opinion. So people can we not crucify each other for having an opinion.
First why should we care if krsiten goes to the oscars or not? It is her own life and career, if she wants to stick in one career path without exploring then that is her own business. Who knows maybe she just wants to be in small film roles where you don’t have to answer too many questions.
Secondly, an essential part of acting is knowing how to talk to fans whether it is her father or whoever that said this words. People skillsis important one has to learn to draw audiences in whether they are young teens or mature ones. After all it is these people and upwards the movie was made for. It has a PG of 12. So 12 year olds and above are expected to ask questions.
If she doesn’t like them, i think the polite route is more better cos taking the commenty and hard route will only cause an uproar.
All i can say is………. Kristen has turned into a complete bitchy , snobby , and arrogant person… I’m glad rob isn’t with her. He deserves better!

Has anyone ever considered that Kristen probably wasn’t invited to present at the Oscars? (rightly IMO). Rob was and that’s wny he attended. It’s really that straightforward. Rob is a far better actor than Kristen is at this point. He carried the whole movie. I’m glad she wasn’t invited. I don’t think she earned it. She stutters, stammers, and doesn’t properly pronounce half of her lines throughout the whole movie and doesn’t do Meyer’s Bella justice.
I think that anyone who thinks that Kristen is a good actors should watch a lot more movies.. she was horrible… she had no expressions, we didn’t feel any emotions from her part … she didn’t even read the book before ??? It shows that she doesn’t have any interest in the story and on giving a good performance… what a let down … Its a shame for Rob who is a great actor … people give too much credits to her …

First I’m a huge twilight fan and have read the books. I think that people should realize that half of what is reported is tampered with. this is why they make these kinds of head lines to make money. People save energy complaining I thing she did a good job in the movie. If she doesn’t go to the oscars is it are bussness no. Think of any one else from the twilight cast did they go beside Rob who was presenting and are they getting all of this nosecens? Lay off people on Kristen and criticing her.
It is true that from what the media has stated could be “mixed-up” and misunderstood (altogether). Whether it was her actually saying it or her father, rather disrespectful to the individuals–on-screen and off-screen which reflects their ability as a professional! Yes, there was a lack of funds and things did seem in haste (does that sound familiar? Does NM come to mind?) I think that no one of the cast read the series! Even Robert asked Meyer’s to read “MS” so he could have a “good and better insight” of his character since it is from a woman’s point-of-view. Kristen reminds me of a person–actor or not–who just goes to the set, reads their lines, and goes home or to their trailer. She likes to move things quickly unlike Robert who wants to know about the character, learns from who that character is, and uses his intelligence (of acting) mesh with the character that is on paper (script). There are two actors that come to mind to this type of relationship (on-screen): Spencer Tracy (Kristen Stewart) and Katherine Hepburn (Robert Pattinson).
Hopefully she could work on her “public” relations and ask her dad to “side-step” so she could get a manager that will fit her better. IVETH: so true!!! She’s worse than me with having a “chip on her shoulder”. That is a BIG chip! With 3 films that are not Twilight related…I am so pleased and happy and eager to see them! Robert with a mustache!
I think if she didnt want to be in the movie, or deal with the hype that surrounds it, then she shouldnt have agreed to do it. Maybe she signed on at first because Catherine Hardwicke, (who is a great indie director, and Kristen seems to do a lot of indies) had agreed to do Twilight, and she liked the direction that she gives. However, she should realize that Hollywood lives and thrives off our (the fans) money and lots n lots of speculation. They love to keep stuff going… Shes entitled to her opinion, but in that line of work, anything and everything you do is watched and criticized. I have this to say: Kristen, remember where you’re working if you want to survive in that line of business. You’re going to make a lot of Twilighters dislike you, if you insist on saying things like that.
