She may prefer to write late at night while her family sleeps, but for the record, there is not a lot about Stephenie Meyer, author of the better-than-best-selling Twilight series, that screams vampire. Yes, she has long dark hair and earthy brown eyes, casually highlighted this afternoon at her home in Arizona by a black Banana Republic cashmere sweater and jeans, but she lacks the arrogance associated with vampireness. Her vibe is homey; she sits you down on her living-room couch, one leg curled up under her, and starts talking as if you had been in the midst of conversation for years. She’s surrounded by her sons’ toys, games, and compasses (her husband is a Cubmaster), as well as her work—her office is in the front hall. There are family photos and a few paintings of the Washington coast, where Twilight takes place. The Phoenix neighborhood where she lives, a kind of desert suburb, is the opposite of the Washington coast, and lately she and her husband have been taking their three boys (ages six, eight, and eleven) on vacation to the Seattle area once in a while, to see green. “It’s nice to show them that there are places where things are alive,” she says.

first! thats a hot pick of Steph!
Awesome pic I have to pic up a copy to read the rest. I wish I could meet her to bow at her feet and beg for midnight sun to be completed!
Superb article (on the Vogue site).
Her humility, sweetness, and down-to-earth qualities are a few things that make me admire her more, each time I read something about her.
A liked how the interviewer said “Meyer has sold a gazillion copies (actual number, 28 million)”… gazillion… Awesome
Keep up the AMAZING work you do Stephenie. We truly do appreciate you sharing this special story with the world.
That was a really great article about Stephenie! I like how she says that Twilight has nothing Mormon up its sleeve! I also love how she has kept everything in the family and small! Way to stay grounded!!!
It was a GREAT article and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
that’s not a very good picture of her…
The dress is nice on her, but they should’ve done something more exotic… or different. Great article by the way!!! She is a dreamcatcher… I hope they publish midnight sun.. but my mom won’t let me read Breaking dawn because of sexual stuff : (
cool! nice dress..*cough* ahem. i agree with Carly.
speaking of Carly, how old r u? u have very right 2 read it! unless u r 10 or younger….BREAK OUT A STRIKE!
haha i so agree with twilightkid12. haha strike!!!

I agree with Alice….Carly you should strike and read the book!!!!! You have to know how it ends!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ditto on the strike.
I agree anyway tell her the scenes arent overly sexual because as a Mormon Stephanie doesnt put anything like that in the books even Breaking Dawn. as to the article cool picture ill have to get a copy of Vogue to read it
she wont let you read it because of the sexual stuff ! ! :O
thats sucks ! !
but i cant lie, they do it a lot in BD.
but its not like she goes and explains it in detail, it like they are making out and all that, then its later, and they are done.
but yah , all the time
You GO GIRL!!! I’m so happy for you, Stephenie!!!! You’re my publishing IDOL
Yeah, that pic IS hot!!!
That is a really good article! I wish stephenie was my Sunday school teacher, that would be so fun!
Hmmm. Interesting interview, but I think Vogue’s stuff has gone downhill recently. Did you read that one with Warren Buffett’s granddaughter?
As for Ms. Meyer – It’s so weird to see just how fervent her fans are compared to many other writers, who seem less than impressed with Meyer’s books. Stephen king just eviscerated her in a recent interview.

To a certain extent, I can understand that. I mean, J.K. Rowling spent years trying to find a publisher for Harry Potter, but they snapped Twilight right up and it went on to be hugely popular.
But I think she’s got a huge talent for empathy and that’s why her writing speaks to so many people.
Awesome blog, by the way. Very good looking and slick although personally Mr Patterson does NOTHING for me and men my age lusting after Kristen Stewart is just plain creepy. So I prefer the words to the pictures!
u have all rights 2 read it!
some ppl(ex: ME) knew what sexual stuff was before their parents tell them!
STRIKE!
just don’t get grounded. get some friends 2 help u. if u have guy friends that read it, bring them. works a charm
