MTV: Does Kristen Stewart Really Think Twilight Is A Bad Movie?

MTV has an article about comments made from Kristen as well as her father for why she wasn’t at the Oscars.
From George Lucas to Michael Phelps to the Octo-Mom, every famous person has to deal with it at some point: Backlash. But now, as the vitriol begins to boil around Kristen Stewart, we have to wonder: Are the Twilighters being too mean?
The latest brouhaha began brewing when Robert Pattinson showed up to Sunday’s 81st Annual Academy Awards without the “Twilight” leading lady on his arm. As fans know, from the MTV Movie Awards to Comic-Con and various other events throughout 2009, it was extremely rare to see one actor making a publicity appearance without the other nearby. Immediately, rumors began circulation that there was more to KStew’s conspicuous absence than met the eye.

Okay, well at first I was pissed by the comment and I even left a scathing comment on another site (it may have been this one and I don’t remember-it was realllly late okay) in which I said that it was pretty gutsy to make a comment like that considering her acting in Twilight **sucked **for lack of a better word. I never felt that Bella vibe from her at ALL. But you know what, re-reading her dad’s comments I finally get what he and Kristin means-she finally realized what a CRAPPY acting job she did in Twilight that she would stand behind her movie when it was a better job on HER part. Just my thoughts….
wait. MTV should have no rights about what we think and comment! I vote on having anything on Twilighters.org to be private, but maybe they arnt referring to us on Twilighters.org? they just call fans twilighters?
now i feel very bad about this. me, speaking for all the peacekeepers(Carlisle, suck it up.) that were are very truly sorry to Kirsten.
but-MTV has no rights to do this. now, we risk the chance of having Kirsten in our movies
well i’ll buy twilight (DVD) when she becomes a better actress. i didn’t think she a was good bella. i mean the hospital scene. “n-no-wha-what-a-are-yo-y-n-wh-n-no-what ar-no!” thank god EDWARD stopped bella from talking. but really she’s a snobby girl who’s caught up in hollywood and herself. – i love edward :]
It is some what true about what kristen stewart said. I loved the movie, but it wasn’t good enough. If Twilight had a better directer it would’ve been better, and Kristen probably would’ve came. Sorry if I am the rebel here.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was more to that quote or if the way she really feels about the movie is being misinterpreted by the media. When I read that I take it as she doesn’t wanna be used. I mean on one end we got summit milking twilight for all it could and on the other end we had the oscars trying to use the popularity to get ratings in. Maybe her not presenting was her way of saying no she’s not gonna let a bunch of people who probably don’t like the movie just use her because its a popular movie. Honestly, I doubt the academy gave a shit about twilight.
And I totally agree with her… people have been asking a bunch of lame questions.

I enjoy Kristen as Bella, maybe she’s just grown on me…dunno? Trying really hard not to say anything to harsh about Kristin but if that is truly what she’s waiting for, she’s going to be waiting awhile…or never. As for being asked the same “bull- questions, what does she except. She has trouble & stumbles over answering a simple “tell us about your role as Bella” type question, so why would anyone want to put her on the spot and ask her anything more intriguing. Also after watching a few other interviews she has done lately promoting her new movie, she always seems to come across as being “put off” (not sure what word to use…) by the mention of Twilight.
K, guys we need to lay off on the stars right now, i think i would have been cool to see, Kristen Stewert with Rob, but oh well she wasnt there.
She is the one running her mouth. She never has a positive comment about the fans. Don’t get me wrong i don’t expect her to be exuberant over the overwhelming response, but she acts pissed ALL OF THE TIME. She has admitted she has not read the books and obviously has no intentions of doing so. She was horrible as Bella. I am very critical of this because THE BOOKS ARE ABOUT BELLA. We are not being mean to her. She has a bad attitude and does not like us calling her on it. Kristen humble yourself . You are not a good actress. Please prove me wrong. We are the ones spending the money. If you get tired of it, GO TO THE HOUSE. We would love for you to be replaced.

i agree with sylwia. i’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope the quote was misinterpreted or misconstrued. it could have been taken out of context and there could be more to it. after all, it was her father that said it.
but on the other hand, if that’s exactly what was said and how it was meant… don’t bite the hand that feeds you. if you don’t like a film, and aren’t in it for the money, then why bother doing it? don’t talk badly about the movie that you’re signed on for two more sequels, that have yet to even be filmed. regardless if you’re a die-hard Twilight fan or not, why would you want to see film(s) starring an actress that doesn’t even think the movie is “great?” you should 100% support a film you’re STARRING in to the public, including all the BS that comes along with it. even if you honestly don’t like it, ACT like you do. when everything is all said and done, then you can talk.

I think the reason she wasnt at the oscars is Rob was only there because he was presenting otherwise I doubt he would be there either
rob said he was honored to be there nd kristen was asked to go to the oscars she was even personally called on the phone by the producers but she jus didnt show up nd her dad at the oscars said she would come to oscars when she does a good movie refering to the fact that twilight wasnt good and that definetly came from kristen somehow her dad wouldnt be makin it up common
At the end of the day Kristen Stewart’s comments about the fan base were rude and thoughtless. Some of the fans are very young and the questions they ask maybe silly, so Kristen get over it. She doesn’t do well in interviews, never has, I guess it is because she isn’t comfortable. But rather than say that…she implies that being prepared (Letterman show for example) is the same as being contrite. I think Kristen would benefit from watching how well Robert moves through interviews etc. He’s uncomfortable too…but he deals with it.
I really think that they twisted around john’s words. I don’t think he quite meant it to mean that. Besides I like Kristen, she doesn’t take and crap and sticks up for herself. Shes got something that most young hollywood actors dont have.

First of all she wasn’t even the best actress to play Bella. How many people could’ve done a better job. secondly, she does drugs in day light??

What…? I think Kristen is an AMAZING actress. And just because she isn’t kissing everyone’s ass doesn’t mean anything. I think she has a good attitude. I am obligated to love the movie, if they had done it with hand puppets i would’ve loved it. But it was really not that good…I mean, if you stop a minute and don’t let your obsession cloud your judgement.

I like Kristen. Some of the fans need to get over themselves and stop acting like they rule the world. Kristen is Kristen:: She’s not an attention whore, she’s not perky, and she’s not fake. She’s chill and honest. Everyone’s bitchier towards girls than guys (just because she doesn’t have an amazing forest on her head or smoldering eyes).

I still love Kristen. I agree with Insomnia that some of the fans are just overreacting. And as for the Nylon interview where Kristen mentions the stupid questions and the psychotic situations…Hello, it’s true!!! I’m sorry, but, seriously, who is going to ask someone, “So what’s it like kissing a vampire?” That IS a stupid question. He is not a real vampire, so it’s not even relevant! And the situations that they’re put in ARE psychotic. I mean, how would you feel if you were put in a room with thousands and thousands of people screaming at you, you can’t discern what they’re saying, and they’re all acting like they have no sense whatsoever? I would be calling that psychotic too. So just give the girl a break.
Well we can’t blame her for not liking the movie. I mean, if she doesn’t she doesn’t. I personally loved it, of course, but it doesn’t mean she has to.

I used to think twilighters were nice people. I USED to love twilight but now because of all the popularity and those horrible people out there who are just down right mean, twilight has officially been ruined for me. I think I’m done with twilight. I read it in 2005 about a week after it came out and when all this attention came out I was glad to have fans to talk to about it but NOW. WHAT. IS. TWILIGHT. ANYMORE. Also Twilight would have been a better movie, if she could act, all the other actors were really good, just how i pictured them to be. WHY did kristen win best female performance at the MTV movie awards, I almost joked on my own vomit..I mean really? She has no appreciation for much of anything it seems, she was an AWEFUL actress….Regardless of Twilight being a huge deal, and people not feeling she was “bella” , look at her other movies…I mean my god, she is the SAME person in almost every single one…The same stuttering bullshit, blank expression on her face, i mean, when she is trying to show emotion, she actually looks like she is in pain…..she is terrible…it makes me so sad that I have to watch three more twilight movies that she stars in….
I loved the Twilight books and I’m a big fan of them, but I was really disapointed when i saw the movie. I think that her acting was terrible and I’m mad that they gave her roll of the main character. Now im not gonna say that Kristen is a snob or anything because i don’t know her personally but I don’t appreciate the way she bagged the movie when it’s what made her famous in the first place. I really hope she does a better job acting in the second movie.

Terrible attitude. Terrible actress. Needs to grow up…a lot… Her portrayal of Bella makes it impossible to suspend disbelief- requiring the viewer to buy into the notion that an exceptional creature with 100+ years of education and worldly experience would choose to spend eternity with a sullen, taciturn teen who has no control over a physical twitch she routinely employs whenever she attempts to convey “seriousness”. It’s completely and utterly ridiculous.
