Chris Weitz brother directing Eclipse move?

Acting 411 is reporting that the Drew Barrymore rumor directing Eclipse movie is false
and that Chris Weitz brother, Paul will be director:

There have been rumors circulating that Drew Barrymore will be directing the third installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Series. These rumors are false. Due to the New Moon post-production schedule for director Chris Weitz, his brother and co-owner of “Depth of Field Productions”- Paul Weitz-will be directing Eclipse.

hmmm.. well thats interesting, i hardly know n e thing about chris and absolutely nothing about his bro, so that worries me a lil. i just hope that he doesn’t suck and make the movie terrible bcuz Eclipse is my 2nd fav book (1st is Twilight)hehe=]

That’s cool. At least he’ll have Chris to go to if tere’s any questions/concerns. And I’d bet he’ll hang out when he can on the New Moon set…so both movies will have still have that flow with each other. Also great in that the 3rd will be released so much earlier than having to wait another year or two. Good idea Summit

Paul directed “Cirque Du Freak,” which isn’t out yet, but it is an amazing book series about vampires with a LOT of action scenes. So if they trusted him with that movie, I think he’ll be good for Eclipse. Plus, that means he has experience with turning books into movies (yay!) and with special effects (double yay!)

Uhm… Summit said they were still in deliberation over a number of directors AND Drew Barrymore confirmed in a public interview that she was being considered for the director because that’s what she does now but it may not happen:

I glad. i just can’t wait. This is worst than when I was waiting for POTC. I think that since Eclipse is coming out in June of 2010 they should have Breaking Dawn out in November of 2010. LOL! That would be fun.

What the F? There is a kiss in the piazza of New Moon? Did this director ACTUALLY read New Moon? I can’t think he did, or if he did, he was just thinking, action, sex, money. What an ass – one of the most powerful things in the book is the devastation Bella feels at losing Edward and the kiss, shared much later in the book, signifies her submission to her heart – it is NOT an – oh I saved you moment. She genuinely wants to save him because she loves him, but is AFRAID to kiss him because she’s not sure she can survive again when he leaves, AGAIN.. DUH. What a douche bag sell out. I think I’m boycotting the film and I haven’t even seen the new trailer – also shamelessly commercialized by having it affiliated with a second rate commercial rock film – Come ON Stephanie Meyer, you’re too good to sell out like this.
