I think she will be great. Lots of people underestimate the young, but that will make her particularly evil for the part. Plus, the book said she was “childlike” and almost boyish, which she is since she is still young. Wonder who her brother will be?

finally, an official announcement! i think she’ll do great as jane, dakota is a wonderful actress. she fits the part appearance-wise, hopefully she can bring jane alive for all of us. it’ll be itnerstig to see her as an evil person.

I think she will be a great jane… or at least a good one. Truthfully someone could think shw was aweful and the person right next to you could think she was the best. I myself wasnt really sure if she would be good for the part, but i watched her movie Push (she is a future telling person and all she can focus on is her and the other main character’s death) She was somewwhat gruesome, so i think she will be a good match for jane. Anyways everyone has their own idea who should b the actors in the movie based on the book. She isnt a disney star so just throw a party over that! I do wonder who sam will b now… I dont think that Solomon was the right person for the part.

I know a lot of us also are afraid that DAKOTA may overshadow the other cast, BUT, I TOTALLY DISAGREE. For one thing JANE’S ROLE IS CRUCIAL TO THE STORY BUT IT IS ALSO SMALL, so, I think we wont be seeing much of her until the later part.

i read somewhere in an interview (a long long time ago) that when Stefannie (sry im dysleicx an cant spell that great) was writting new moon and the rest of the twiight saga that when she pictured Jane, she pictured Dakota Fanning when writting about Jane and so on and so forth….i think its great that shes going to play Jane! and i find it dumb that alot of people dont want her to play Jane….no one wanted Rob to play Edward and now all of the entire tweens around the world are drooling over the fact he’s edward (personally i think they are obsessed with the actor nowadays and not the story which is sad and proves that the dumb tweens are ruining the true essence of the twilight series) but i’ll be rooting for dakota! she totally deserves this role!

People…there is not an actor/actress on this earth that is as beautiful as SM describes her characters to be. So you really need to stop hating on the stars they choose.

I think the young, and innocent looking are the most evil of all. I think that was the point Stephenie tried to make to us. She tried to give Jane a young child-like appearance to really shock us with what cruel things she was doing.
Besides, Dakota will do a great job. A lot of you guys can’t see her being ‘evil’, but that’s the problem with type-casting. Besides, acting is just that, acting! She gets paid to ACT evil.

Dakota isn’t how I pictured Jane. Well she is, but I imagined Jane as having shorter brown hair and looking like she’s eight years old. But I do believe that she will do great as Jane. Some people were disappointed with Rob Pattinson and look how that turned out. I think it will be great either way.

I think she will do a great job! Dakota ia an amazing young actress and she can play an evil character like Jane very well considering her preformance in her recent movie Push. I don’t know why people are making such a big deal about it (like sying that it is a bad thing) She will do amazing and probably upstage Kristen Stewart a little bit.

Okay, seriously what a STUPID choice for Jane. I kind of liked the fact that they had been casting not very well-known faces (for the most part).
…This is such a disappointment.
They could have easily gone with a much creepier girl, a fresh face. If they HAD to go and get some hot-shot actress, there were much more suitable choices.

Seriously, she will be fine. Really how badly can she mess up? Have you seen her work? Hide and seek was just messed up for a girl of like 9 when it was made. I think she perfect for the roll. And you may not like it but you have very little influence in the matter, so live with it.
