Drew Barrymore Confirms That She’s Being Considered For Eclipse

Drew Barrymore confirmed in a recent interview that she’s being considered for directing Eclipse.

Drew Barrymore says she is excited about the possiblity of joining the hugely popular ‘Twilight’ franchise.

Barrymore, 34, confirmed in a recent interview that she’s being considered for ‘Eclipse,’ the third movie in the blockbuster vampire saga that began with ‘Twilight’ last year, the Associated Press reports. “I’m one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I’m a director now,” Barrymore said. “But, you know, they’ll make their choice.”

Chris Weitz (‘The Golden Compass’) is directing ‘New Moon,’ the second film based on Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series, after taking over the franchise from ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke. ‘New Moon’ hits theaters this November, while ‘Eclipse’ is set for a summer 2010 release.

Y is it that the Twilight saga cannot seem to keep a director for more than one movie?? I recognize the name but I really can’t think of anything right off the top of my head that Drew has directed (or acted in). Does somebody know some movies she has done?

Actually I thought that I read Chris’s brother was going to direct Eclipse? Apparently they collaborate frequently.

I am not impressed with anything associated with Drew Barrymore, I don’t think she is a very good actress, she seems ill prepared to direct her own life…let alone a movie??? Just saying.

Ughh I do not want her directing Eclipse She is pretty much only a chick flick kind of actress and director we don’t need Eclipse to be some girly movie with no depth

So many directors…..will that be good for continuity???? She is such a flake….love some of her movies…I would rather they pick a director with some creds to their name, not some fly by night and wake up one day and say “hey I think I’d like to direct.” Drew…start off small,,,you’ll get eaten alive by this crew.

Not sure how I feel about this one since I haven’t seen her work yet. The first film she directed is “Whip it!” and comes out later this year. There are still many more directors they’re considering. To me, the name doesn’t matter so much as the quality and ability of the director. I just hope they choose the perfect one, whoever that may be! =]

its drew barrymoore ! lol . Why would u let her direct the biggest twilight movie yet to come . Like would be the biggest mistake for summit . If she directs it will for sure tank and lose out on a bunch of money . Go do your charlie angel and leave twilight be with professionals

As much as I love Drew Barrymore, I’m not so sure I want her to direct Eclipse because she’s completely new at this and I think someone more experienced should handle it…maybe she could be the director’s assisstant so she can see what it’s like working with such advanced material.
