The “Twilight” franchise has officially replaced Batman for crazy rumors and speculation, causing many a Twilight fan to pull their hair out. Lately, the focus has been behind the camera as everyone seems to be in the running to direct the third installment, “Eclipse.”
Given what a good job you did coming up with bogus Twilight rumors, we thought you might like to discuss the latest director ones, and give us your thoughts as to who you would like take the job. Would you like to see a horror director like Bayona? A master of genres like Mangold? A newcomer like Barrymore?

OMG! I GOT MY TWILIGHT DVD TODAY!!! I HAVE ONLY GOT HAVE WAY THROUGH WITH STUFF BUT BY FAR THE BEST THING IS THE COMMENTARY WITH KRISTEN AND ROB SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! FUNNY AS ALL GET UP BOTH OF THEM.

Hmm… hard to say. I can see Bayona being a good fit. Eclipse is a lot darker, and sinister (a walk in the park for him right?!) BUT also the Bella/Edward and Bella/Jacob relationships do intensify a lot more. So I’m wondering about the balance between gloomy and passionate the chosen director will bring forth. Who can deliver?! All we can HOPE for is for the RIGHT person to come into the project fully committed, stays TRUE to the book, and brings to life the third installment of this extraordinary story.
ummi wouldnt want to have bayona as a director…i dont have anything against him its just i dont think he will be a good fit for the movie director because hes a hooro movie director and not a love story/horror director. I’m scared that he might focus more about the action and horror and forget about bella and edwards relationship.
@ EDWARDISMINE: U are absolutely right about ur scare, he could really forget about Bella&Edwards relationship and ya, EM is right, too because it will be difficult to show a balanced movie: there is Bella&Edwards relationship, than Bella&Jakobs and the fight between the vampires… the action! Gsoh, I hope that someone great will direct it and ya, he/she must stay true to the book! May the director win, who is the biggest and most passionate Twilight reader! I hope the best…
a director that could do the visuals justice would be Guillermo del Toro. if you’ve seen pan’s labyrinth or the orphanage you’d see that he has a way of creating such a lush atmosphere that eclipse will need.
I work at a video store we always get our movies the week before they are released. Movies released every Tues come the Wed before and if there is a special release date on some they come with the Tues group too. Plus my boss lady ordered me my own special deluxe copy its great. When you get your and watch the commentary part Rob goes on and on about his eyebrows getting waxed and pluked. its hilarious.
@ jennifer… ur so lucky! i want my dvd now. yeah, i heard that rob got some waxing done, he must have cussed n rived in pain.haha. thats what women have to go through. haha
my response to mtv. i have no idea who i want. i just want someone experienced thats has an excellent vision and understanding of the book. i fear for the worst, but hope for the best. im holding my breathe u guys.
when are you guys doing another twilighters bites? i think that we should wait and see how chris weitz does and if we like his work then he should continue with eclipse…

i have no idea who should direct Eclipse, but like many of u said, it should b some1 who can take on the challenge of delivering all the action in a great and jaw-droppingly way w/out 4getting the romance and also delivering it w/ the same commitment. and they MUST stay true 2 the book.=]

I hope they pick someone that does justice for this book and it’s story. I have to say that reading Twilight (yes, again & again…) and watching the movie… They are 2 different versions of the story. I really hope it doesn’t continue… The Movie should be as amazing as the book. May the best director win!!!

I’ve heard that Paul Weitz is in the running and often colaborates with his brother Chris who is as we know directing New Moon. I think we would have better continuity with the handoff between Chris and Paul. I hope that Drew Barrymore doesn’t get picked….please, she should stay with her inane career.
I would enjoy it if the person who filmed the spirt and sin city directed Eclipse.
