Catherine Hardwicke Won’t Return To ‘Twilight’ Franchise

MTV has an article on Catherine Hardwicke, Twilight movie director, and that she isn’t going to return to direct any more Twilight Saga movies:

“I think it’s healthier to have a new person do [each one],” explained Hardwicke, who was recently replaced for the sequel “New Moon” but had some fans holding out hope she might return for the upcoming “Eclipse” or “Breaking Dawn” films. “I’ve loved all the different directors that did the ‘Harry Potter’ [films], because each one had their own cool style and energy, so I think that’s good. And I’m moving on to other projects.”

i dont know why some people think that a new director for each film is a good idea. the directors might be so different that the films might be so seperate from each other. i dun really know what to think. still hoping for the best.

  • Kat:

I really wanted her to stay on for all the films… I really hope everything turns out great.

    well thats fair enough
i just hope the other directors are as good as she was – twilight is an amazing film

I don’t know why but Catherine seems kind of sad to me :-( I can tell that she really loved Twilight and that she probably did want to continue to be apart of it, but I guess because of Summit and her differences it definitely won’t. I wish Catherine a ton of success; she’s an extremely sweet person (Sniff sniff, first Cam and now her :’-(….Chris Witz, make me proud mofo, haha.)

i rather have one director do the twilight series, i wanna see how this Chris Weltz (i think thats hislast name) the director does with New Moon if its great then just let him do it all, if not then i guess find another one. but damn it i hope it doesnt sucks. .. im gonna cry if it does lol

i think a bunch of diferent difernet directors would kkinda of get hectic and i agree maybe they wont flow well but harry potter seemed too

  • twiggy:

    good for catherine

I wasn’t completely fond of C.H. as director of Twilight. I didn’t like some of the things she did, but overall it was a great film. I am excited yet nervous about the new director. I hope that he brings something new and fresh to the film but that most of all he stays true to what we all love…the story. I think having different directors can work wonderfully if done well but at the same time can be a total disaster. Each has to do their part to make sure the films fit and flow together. They are, after all, a whole. They must feel as such.
