Does Drew Barrymore Have What It Takes?

MTV has an article about if Drew Barrymore has what it takes if she becomes the director of Eclipse.

As any good Twilighter knows, rumors broke recently that her upcoming rollerskating flick “Whip It!” is so good that it has Summit Entertainment contemplating hiring her to direct “Eclipse.” And with that Ellen Page-starring film hitting theaters in October, we wanted to know what important directorial lessons she employed while becoming a filmmaker.

“As a director, I worked scrupulously and endlessly for months and months and months before we started shooting,” Barrymore explained of her “Whip It!” preparation. “And I would get to work at least one to two hours early.”

Talk about dedication! By the looks and sounds of it, Drew Barrymore might have what it takes to make “Eclipse” watchers very happy.

I like the idea of different directors for every Twilight Saga book. I think that Drew Barrymore will do great if she is chosen. Cant wait for all the rest to come out. :]

Lots of acting experience – duh. Directing – ? Hard pill to swallow when there are soooo many qualified and exceptional directors out there to choose from with sooo much more experience. Glad she is getting good reviews for her film though. Keep working Drew and maybe you’ll get your well deserved “big break”. LOL.

i rather have antonio bayona (the guy who made “the orphanage) direct Eclipse. I mean his movie, the orphanage was really amazing, i heard it got a 10 minute standing ovation! i mean drew hasn’t proved herself yet.

i’ve never seen a movie that she has directed, i’ve only seen movies that she’s been in. I think Drew is a very good actor but i dont know how she will be as a director. Eclipse i think is going to be a hard movie to direct because there is so much going on in that movie and you have the wolves and everything…so i think someone with a lot of experience needs to direct it.

I wish they would hurry up and make their decision. I would rather this be Paul Weitz or Antonio Bayona. Aside from her famous last name, I don’t think Drew Barrymore has the credientials, the experience or the crediability to do much more than insipid acting in a few silly movies. It is amazing how some of these actors actually believe they can direct.

Drew Barrymore does not have what it takes to act let alone “Direct” a movie. I would rather see Michael Moore direct Eclipse. (Which I don’t) lol. But I do agree with Antonio Bayona. The Orphange was a great movie. I would also like Robert to play Gambit in the Xmen movie. Eventhough they have already made Wolverine. Still it doesn’t hurt to try. =)

Like I said as long as movie stays close as the story lines in the book .Drew has been around in the movie world for years, maybe longer then any other person who is jumping at the chance to do ‘New moon.

i havnt seen any of the movies she directed, so im not really sure rite now. but if she is really good, then i guess she’d be good for eclipse.
also, i just want 2 make sure. r they shooting eclipse rite after new moon comes out or something, or r they shooting them at the same time. i heard my classmate saying that they were making it at the same time, and i was thinking that that was weird, and i thought she was wrong. so im just making sure.

I honestly have to wait until New Moon comes out in theaters to see how Chris Weitz’s does. But I already think he’ll do a good job and if he does he should do the next to if he protray’s the next one well enough.

But the hting is, she wn’t have “months and months” to prepare for Eclipse. I LOVE Drew, but I’d rather have someone with tons of movies (good ones, for that matter) under their belts, and that could produce a fantastic one with the time they’re given.

Well, she would be good with communicating with the actors and getting things from them since she is an actress and she would know how best to get what she needs. I can’t really say if she would be good or not, I haven’t seen “Whip It”. Though I would like to. If she gets it then great, if not, that’s great too. I can’t honestly say, “She would suck” or “She would be perfect” cause like I said, I haven’t seen a movie she directed. The choice is up to Summit.

I don’ t realy know if she is any good or not at directing, but I kind of wish they had done this saga like they did Lord of the rings, they filmed them all at one time with one director so that all the characters looked the same, all the locations were the same, and it had one vision for all three movies. Of course it’s too late for that, but I don’t want each movie to seem like it’s own individual story, I want them to all have a familar thread, but that will remain to be seen.
