The Courier Mail talks with Stephenie Meyer from Twilight to the movie process.
Seeing her characters brought to life on the big screen for the first time – Robert Pattinson playing Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan – was a surreal experience for Meyer.
“But really, that happened too when I had a chance to visit the film set,” she says.
“That was when that really hit me. I was sitting there at dinner the first night. Everyone came in costume, because they’d just done a photo shoot. I was like, ‘Wait a minute, these are imaginary people and here they are’ – very weird.”

That would be so cool for Stephenie, being able to visit the set and everything and see her books being brought to life! Strange, but awesome!
stephanie has the coolest reactions. i bet it was mind blowing for her to see characters that she created come to life. it impacts the creator much more than it does the readers.
oooh
Great article, I love that it’s from an Australian newspaper, too. I think Stephenie is right, the reason Twilight has resonated with so many people is because she loves her characters and her story so much, and that is clear in her writing. Her sense of romance obviously connects with a lot of people, too.
she says that twilight is like her “baby”. i get what she means…. i feel like its mine too! i just got back from dominican and whenevver my eyes zeroed in a big black book i would say hi to that person or give them a smile. also at the airport, my mom (who knows of my obsession ) said “hey look what that girls reading, lex!” and pointed to a girl reading eclipse. i grinned and gave my mom a thumbs up and clapped my hands happily! my mom said “seriously, you’d think it was you who wrote it!” hahahhaa.
