E! Online talks with Alex Meraz who plays Paul in New Moon about his encounter with an angry fan.
“Someone started yelling at me because they didn’t like my character,” Meraz told us last night at a Carrera Vintage Sunglasses party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
“I play a bad boy, so she got mad at me,” he added. “She said, ‘I hate you, Paul!’ That was the craziest thing for me—being confused for a character.”
Meraz’s response to the hater?…
“I yelled back at her, ‘I love you, too!’” he said.

wow, he is such an incredible guy. so down to earth and everything. and hes funny too, with his whole, “i love u too!” comment. totally my type. o, and i seriously just wanna beat that fan up for saying that to him. whoever it was should know that paul is a FICTIONAL CHARACTER and that the person they were talking to was, in fact, a real person, not a werewolf. and so even if they dont like paul, how do they now they dont like Alex??? i mean c’mon, they’ve nvr met him and talked to him for any period of time, they just happened to be walking past him. give the guy a break. hes just warming up to all the twilight craze, and im sure hed appreciate it if he wasnt bombarded with negative comments that dont even apply to him. especially now, not 2 months after he signed on to be a part of NM. but it looks like hes not taking it offensively, which is good. he should get used to it, if hes gonna do Eclipse. anyway, ya i think hes really awesome and he’ll do an excellent job of portraying paul in the upcoming movies. i luv him to death. u rock alex!!! <3 <3 <3
