The question has been erupting all over the Web for the last few days, and we’ve just published an article that gets to the bottom of it: Will Kelly Clarkson be on the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack?
The answer is… well… maybe?
As we all remember from last year’s honest dialogue with Catherine Hardwicke, the soundtrack is one of the last things the “Twilight” directors are concerning themselves with. And after the smash sales of last year’s album featuring Paramore, Linkin Park, Perry Farrell and the rest, “New Moon” director Chris Weitz would be wise to take his time and make sure he brings the rock.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t try and influence the guy, right Twilighters? So what do you think? Have you heard Kelly Clarkson’s “Did You?” song? Is her squeaky-clean “American Idol” image a little too much for the “Twilight” fanbase, or do you guys consider yourselves fans?

I’m not a fan of Kelly’s, but regardless, I don’t feel that her style of music fits with the Twilight/New Moon feel. Especially after having such talented bands for Twilight as MUSE and Paramore.
I like Kelly Clarkson, but not for this soundtrack. She doesn’t fit with the mood of things.
I dont think she should be i mean some of her music is cool but.. I dont think its new moon type, LADY GAGA RULES, haha she wouldnt really be new moon typre either though!!

ALEXANDRA, I sooo agree! Bleeding Love is better for Twilight , though. Right now is good too, and Stay with Me by Danity Kane is so perfect, it’s CRAZY! Kelly clarkson is really good, and i think she would make a nice song for NM.
I’m not sure kelly’s song really fits. But definitely more MUSE! Linkin Park! Paramore! More of Rob would be nice too. I think who ever chooses the songs should take a look at Stephenie Meyer’s playlists to the books on her official site. What songs could be better than the ones she listened to while writting the series? Hopefully the director of NM and whoever chooses the songs for the soundtrack take into account that NM is supposed to be heartbreaking and painful. Please don’t candy coat it! Please! I’m tired of bubble gum movies and soundtracks. Bella was in pain and in a downward, destructive spiral. I’m praying that the movie and soundtrack reflect that. I absolutely LOVE the 1st soundtrack, this next one should be dark, edgy and rock. Perhaps Evanescence, Coldplay, Blue October? Clarkson just doesn’t fit.

The ONLY Kelly Clarkson song that should be on the soundtrack and incorporated into the movie is Haunted of the My December album. It fits absolutely perfectly with Edward leaving all the way up to Bella jumping off the clip. I can already see the montage of images flash every time I hear the song. The lyrics, the haunting music, all of it fits perfectly!!!!

Honestly, I think Kelly’s song ‘Cry’ off her new album would be PERFECT for ‘New Moon.’ If y’all haven’t listened to it, you should. The lyrics are quite spot on. Heartbreaking.

jaclyn. we are all just expressing our opinions. your open to yours too but just a smidgens overwhelming (: i respect your opinion though. we obviously have different tastes in music. i do think we do have to move on from the twilight soundtrack. but id like to stay with the general feel of the soundtrack, maybe not the same bands (but some are keepers) but in the same genre. i think it makes twilight seem more… authentic.

I think her songs from MY DECEMBER, will do well on the soundtrack, many people on here are thinking of her happy, bubbly songs but her emotional songs from my december like haunted and addicted would do quite well in the movie because it was a dark time in Clarkson’s life when she wrote those songs and this would fit Bella’s emotional range in the movie as well.

I like kelly’s song my life would suck with out you, but when I listen to songs and think it might be good for the new moon soundtrack I soley listen to the lyrics. That song would be good if the tempo was a little slower. I do agree that they do need to keep the rock vibe but in certain parts a good ballad will do wonders but you also have to remember that just b/c it is in the movie doesn’t mean it will be on the soundtrack, i.e. 15 step by raideohead. or visa versa eyes on fire played for all of 10 sec and it was on the soundtrack but anyways I have no aversion to kelly being on the new moon soundtrack!
@ GRACE TWILIGHT: if Muse’s Time Is Running Out was for the Italy scene… OMG! THAT WOULD BE SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!! Its got a tension but also a good beat! Oh wow, that better be the song! Exo Politics would be cool somewhere in New Moon, like when Jacob is teaching Bella how to ride a bike. And I like Assasin, just cuz. lol

AND kristen stewart sugessted iron and whine and also bella listened to linkin park in the book and edward had that cd they both listen to a very wide range of music except for rap!

Check Natalie Walker – “Waking Dream”, this song would be perfect when Bella think shes dead and dreaming when she find that Edward is in her room after Italy.
Also check Ashes Divide – “Denial Waits” or “Too Late” for other scenes in the movie.
Or other bands like Stephenie Meyer’s playlists.
Remember: New Moon its not POP and PINK.
Its heart breaking, depressing, emptiness and healing process.
