R.Pattz’s acting was awful in Twilight, so I really wonder about Little Ashes. Have you read any reviews? Is it any good at all? Thanks.

No, it won’t hurt his career at all! He’s way too popular. And – - I thought his acting was GREAT in Twilight.
Can it really be that bad? I think he did really good in How to Be. I think that he will do just fine in New Moon!
I saw Little Ashes last night, Rob was fantastic. The moustache was a bit much, but Dali had a crazy moustache and he was eccentric. I thought Rob captured the character wonderfully. I’ve read some very good reviews too. W magazine and Playboy both praised Rob.
E! can suck it, they are more about pop culture then fine works of art. I haven’t gotten to see the movie, it didn’t open in Hawaii (even though I know some of us would have seen it). Anyway, E! wouldn’t know class if it bit them on the rear. Ugg don’t get me started.
HE should be a little worried, but not overly worried. He is a pretty good actor!
I don’t think anyone should listen to critic I mean really go watch it for yourself and make you own decisions I personally think its going to be good cause its an Indieish film and I love those and its about my favorite artist.
That article that E! wrote is BULL because i have seen twilight millions of times and i think rob’s acting was awsome.So they should shut up and stop harshing on rob until they know what good acting is!
that’s pretty harsh….anyway you can’t please everybody….i hope rob wouldn’t be affected too much by this in a negative way….i hope he’ll use this as a driving force to work harder though i know he puts more than 100% in his projects…just believe in yourself rob!!!
You are kidding? Right? Rob Pattinson shouldn’t worry about anything at the moment! Although I have not seen the full-run of “Little Ashes,” I have viewed several long previews. Rob is outstanding as Salvador Dali.
One of my best friends in college knew Dali, and she recently went to a screening of “Little Ashes.” She praised Rob in the role, stating that his performance was “Oscar” worthy, and that Rob’s “Dali” was pure perfection! Remember, this was coming from someone who knew Dali, not a reviewer. Movie reviews are subjective. Everyone sees a film from their own perspective.
I am a huge admirer of Rob’s pre-Twilight work. Just saw “How to Be” and was greatly impressed with Rob’s comedic timing.
He is an actor that can do comedy, drama and everything in between. So, to answer your question…One or two bad reviews will never tarnish Rob’s career. He is a not merely a movie star, Rob Pattinson is an amazingly talented actor!
I can tell you, Rob’s performance as Salvador Dali is truly brilliant.
I think he is super brave for playing a role where the character is a real person.
The guy is so talented, be it music or acting, it’s incredible……
from what i’ve seen it is a truly beautiful movie full of passion with great music and script . this is not a pop culture movie it’s an art film and yes Dali did have a mustache E! should read a little art history. at this point nothing could hurt robs career this only lets us see how versatile he is. everyone involved in the making of this film should be proud of it

hmm… he should be a bit more ‘thoughtful’ on his next choice of roles. Rob needs to get in a classic, epic movie that’s either Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or Adventure. It would be great to get him (since he is pretty good actor and has enormous potential) into a film based off a old book, example: Lord of the Rings (I know they already made those movies, just a example) so he can be a strong, heroric character.
Edward is a fine character and that is what started Rob’s career, but he would be excellent in a heroric, in-charge character. That would help his image a lot.
My friend and I saw Little Ashes and she’s a total, and i mean TOTAL, Rob fan, she is obsessed its really funny, where as I just like him cuz he got to portray Edward, and she was really upset with his performance in Little Ashes, and thats saying a lot from someone who has met him too.
But Rob could go really far with his career, especially after the Twilight Saga in finished, then he can break out. – The one thing he needs to work out is not being type casted, but since he’s handling that now he shouldn’t have any problem in the future.
Its exciting to see him work, and I cant wait for his future films!
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and i agree completely with Dee Marie that movie reviews are subjective. Personally i think he’s a fantastic actor and he obviously puts everything he has into every role he takes on. Plus who offer to listen to movie reviewers when you have such supportive and devoted fans?!

I haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, and I’m abstaining from reading any type of reviews (good or ugly).
With that said, I think acting is a bit of everything, and I’m sure they (actors) know that they have to take the good, bad and the ugly, so I’m sure that if the movie is awesome, it will be VERY good for him, and if it’s bad, then so what!? You can’t please everyone, and if he’s proud of the work that has been done, then THAT IS what matters.
I’m watching it on the 22nd of May, so I’ll be able to make my own opinion about it then.
Bottom line, Robert SHOULD NOT worry about bad reviews… and you know what?… I’m sure he doesn’t even care, because I think he has proved to us that he’s really NOT into that vain way of thinking.

I saw How to Be and thought it was just ok. I enjoyed Twilight and thought he did a decent job of protraying Edward Cullen. In terms of Little Ashes I’ve heard both bad and good…I don’t intend to see it. Dali was a nut job, if you read his bio he basically was an amazing talent but also a bit of a sexual sicko. I think it would be very difficult to carry out this role even for a seasoned actor. Now that said I think Rob should continue to explore many acting alternatives otherwise he will be seen as a one trick pony. I don’t think Little Ashes was a mistake because from the few trailers I’ve seen Rob does a good job of playing a young conflicted Dali. While Rob is doing the remainder of the Twilight Saga…he is exploring other genre’s and that is a good idea.
In terms of reviews they do have some merit depending who is doing the reviewing. Are thy legitimate reviewers… so what can be learned from the feedback and then move on.
Mostly Rob should be looking at the gross revenue the film generates, whether he gets awards (from his peers) and if his career does well he will continue to be offered good roles. S
I can’t believe that people are that easily influenced by what others say about films. If I want to see a film, I go to see it and form my own opinion. I have a mind of my own and choose to use it. People who are that easliy influenced are weak minded. I think Rob will do fine and shouldn’t let the reviews bother him. It looks like he is choosing diverse roles and with that some people will like them and some won’t, actors should make themselves happy first.
I thought Robert acted well in Twilight. Just because a film of his ended receiving bad reviews I don’t feel we should jump to conclusions. It happens to actors & actresses in the movie business. Not every single film that one acts in their lifetime is going to receive good reviews. Robert is started acting in film not that long ago and got more recognized worldwide after acting in Twilight. Plus he’s a diverse actor in terms of roles. I’m crazy about him.

Gee! The kid is going to be 23 he is in the runaway movie in ages, He is adores and loved by many. He is a talented musician and singer. He has only just begun and so what the heck he is portraying Dali as he was an eccentric artist. So What! I say kudos to him for doing what he’s doing and I am sure there is more for us to see and appreicate

aww, rob shouldnt worry about this crap. rob knows how is acting was in twilight, he knows how good or how bad he was, he doesnt need critics to tell him. the same with little ashes. and i have to agree with some of you guys, little ashes and new moon are so different from each other, his acting skills will be tested.
I dont think Rob has anything to worry about. He was fine in Twilight, his acting was not bad. The movie was just bad in general. but his acting was fine.

Well now, I think even if it’s bad, it doesn’t matter considering it was filmed many mnths! before twilight even started casting. He has improved so much as an actor, and he was excellent back then anyway!

I enjoyed how Pattison portrayed Edward in Twilight. I thought Kristen and Robert did very well. I do not think good or bad reviews at this point will effect any of the sequals, its all just too huge. I am a mom and a HUGE Twilight fan. I am planning to see New Moon 2 or maybe more when it hits theaters.

It wasn’t a good movie. I’m not going to say it was just because it was Rob. However, it will not hurt his career or New Moon. This movie never would have been released if it wasn’t for his fame in Twilight. This is no big deal.

I think that Rob choosing to play Salvador Dali is a HUGE RISK, for guys like him. You just don’t see Zac Efron and other hearthrob out there choosing roles that has something do to with being gay and eccentric. SO FOR THAT ALONE I THINK HE DOESN’T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS REVIEWS. Because what Rob has shown when he picked movies like HOW TO BE AND LITTLE ASHES is that he likes to act in different genres. Genres that actors his age wouldn’t even dream of picking.
And ALL GREAT ACTORS out there has had a bad performance on screen every once in a while, but they rise above it. Also, I think that you shouldn’t listen to CRITICS REVIEW. Of course, it’s great to see other people’s opinion once in a while. BUT ITS REALLY UP TO YOU TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU LIKE THE MOVIE OR NOT.

Well, Little Ashes hasn’t been released yet here in Brazil, so I can’t really judge Rob’s work there. But I think he did a good job in Twilight.
And if he did bad on Little Ashes or not, I can’t see why he can’t do a nice job in New Moon or any others future movies. Great actors had dealed with bad reviews and won awards after that. E! lshould be more concerned about the quality of their articles than teasing on actors. Enough said.
I thought the acting was really good in Twilight. I feel like the actors really captured the essences of the characters and were really devoted to the story. To me the writing and directing needed work.
Anyway, I have no idea how Rob did in Little Ashes- I will have to see the movie to decide- but I agree about his film choices. He’s a smart guy and I think he knows that to survive in the business you have to avoid becoming the Drew Barrymore-romantic comedy-type cast actor. Plus, he seems to pick things he likes, and I don’t see him liking a lot of “tween flicks”. I hope he does movies that touch him- that’s what I would want to go see.
Critics review means nothing. there’s this one movie i LOVE that everyone found awesome but the “professional” critics didn’t like it.
But i do agree that i don’t like his acting on twilight. but at least he’s better than Kstew. lol
this will hurt his career. the gay film hugh grant did early in his career delayed the start of his career by about 15 years.
rob pattinson’s fan base is tween-aged girls. hear that? that’s the sound of posters being ripped off the wall.
the film studio will somehow have to get them to transfer their affections to some other guy in the series whose actually straight.
