The Children’s Choice Book Awards gave the Author of the Year award to Stephenie Meyer for her novel, Breaking Dawn!
In a gala ceremony in New York City last night, the Children’s Choice Book Awards gave the Author of the Year prize to Stephenie Meyer for her novel, “Breaking Dawn.”
The winners were chosen in six categories, broken down by age groups–220,000 online votes were cast by children around the country. The awards ceremony celebrated the 90th observance of Children’s Book Week, which lasts from May 11-17, 2009. Read the complete list of winners after the jump.

and i know, children’s book??? can you see a 6 year old girl reading breaking dawn and actually understanding and empathizing with bella, thats kinda weird. i would call the book more as a young adult to adult novel.

ok i already left a comment ^^ but i just wanted to say that yeah, BD…a children’s book? come on! theres a ton of s e x in there, and i cant imagine someone under the age of ten reading it. i know an eleven year old who has o.O my school librarian says its for 9-12 GRADE, which makes it an official young adult book. who cares tho, right? i got my principal to read them. BAHAHAHAHA. it was hilarious. she was hooked, as im sure anyone reading this is. ok so this is a pretty long comment, especially for a second one xD. anyway, ILY STEPH!!! Thats great, congrats, Stephanie! But… well Breaking Dawn isn’t a kids book… although I’m all for people reading the twilight saga (coz it is AMAZING!), it really annoys me when I see 10 year olds reading it. Anyone with me?

Breaking Dawn : lost everything and sucked. Its not a children’s book and quite frankly it doesn’t have the same characters of the characters in the first three. oh well, my opinion. dont comment on this if you disagree, I know many who also hate it.

Sorry I agree with Rose..Loved the first three books but I’m afraid I was totally bored with Breaking Dawn.. and as a mom, Bella’s little baby was freaky and over the top, uncomfortable read for me. But I’m still a fan.
YES! think you JACS for agreeing with me! Renesmee was freaky and quite fankly and disturbing little creature. Now I’m not a mom, but the baby was a wrong thing to add. Bella and Edward wouldn’t have been so stupid either.
