Vampires Are Taking Over the World

Vampires are pretty popular right now. I can’t imagine why either. Can you? The overwhelming popularity of “Twilight” can be felt in every corner of entertainment these days. Vampires are officially “in,” and everyone seems to be picking up on it. Even book publishers.
Last week, MTV Splash Page’s Rick Marshall headed down to New York City’s Jacob Javits Center to hunt for scoops at the annual BookExpo America trade show. While it seems you Twilighters will be waiting a bit longer before you see a comic book rendition of Stephanie Meyer’s series, you certainly won’t be wanting for vampire-related content in the coming months. there is this book called suck it up. and it sounds exactly like twilight! actuallly midnight sun because it is int he male vampires role. who falls in love with a human girl. i havent read it, just the back cover
I have actually found 2 other series that are not as good as Twilight Saga*cause there is nothing better than that* they definitely are really good! Check out Vampire Academy and The Morganville Vampires Series

“How to date a vampire” what kinda book is that? Seriously this stuff is ridiculous.
I Totally agree with HANNAH! I mean, authors think tht teens like vampire books now…but some of us don’t! we like the romance! and the vampire/werewolf stuff just makes it more intense! a little bit of everything!
I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO THINK, I MEAN OTHER AUTHORS THINK WELL….. “THIS BOOK IS REALLY POPULAR SO I’LL WRITE A BOOK LIKE IT AND IT’LL BE A POPULAR BOOK” AND OTHERS MAYBE MIGHT HAVE WANTED TO WRITE A VAMPIRE BOOK AND COULDN’T GET IT PUBLISHED OR SOMETHING. ANYWAYS TWILIGHT IS JUST AN HONORABLE BOOK AND HOPEFULLY IS WILL STILL BE A BIG HIT IN 10 YEARS BUT ANYWAYS I’M NOT A SHRINK OR ANYTHING BUT IT MAY BE GIVING AUTHORS THAT WANT TO WRITE ABOUT VAMPIRES A BOOST OF CONFIDENCE AND INSPIRATION. none of them r as good as twilight! they’re just a bunch of copies.
plus, i knew that quite a time ago. i mean, when i go 2 borders, there’s a whole section of vampire “love” stories. 2 me, they’re just a copy.
I agree, none of them are as good as Twilight. And the truth is, I’ve only read one other vampire series and that was Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan. I’m not really into vampires and all that stuff but Twilight and Cirque Du Freak present vampires in a different way. A more civilized way I guess you could say lol I hope none of that sounded stupid but that’s my thoughts
anyways I love the Twilight Saga and Cirque Du Freak.

i think its awesome that vamipire storys r taking over..of course none compare 2 Twilight, but i’ve always loved vampires, even b4 Twilight, they’re the best mythical creatures ever!!!! werewolves r pretty awesome 2..hehe=]

suck it up by brian meehl comes out in aug 2009 and sounds nothing like any twilight book.
its really cool that Twilight started this, well, that it probably started, and have you noticed how the other vampire book covers somehow have the same ‘vibe’ as twilight? copy cats. lol!
The Twilight series is freaking awesome, love them all, but other vampires, oi, scare the pants off me! lol, I couldn’t take the 1979 Dracula. haha

not to insult anyone, but dont you guys think this whole vampire phenomenon is getting out of hand. i mean, just because i love twilight means im going to to love all things vampire. yeah im a Dracula fan, Bram stroker can really write, but i dont want to be surrounded by all things vampire.
omg dnt i know it… i bought my twilight dvd from amazon and now im bombarded with endless suggestions of ANYTHING to do with vampires… but im a wimp and scared of other vampire stuff.. hypocritical i know but nasty vampires are scary.
i think people are just doing all of that to be aprat of something you know because some of my freinds don’t even like twilight and there all OMG i can’t wait till new moon its so dumb i hate how people just get interested because of everyone else i mean i have liked twilight from the very beginning not just recently like some people but that doesnt mean its a bad thing either i think its great people are getting into it
If I wouldn’t have read Twilight I wouldn’t have read the Sookie Stackhouse novels which Trueblood on HBO is based on. I refer to it as the adult version of Twilight. I can’t decide which is better so they are equally great books in their own way. Supernatural characters and love interests and of course a human girl which has a power of her own. Plus, the 2 main characters/actors of the show/books are really together in real life. Not rumors, they talk about their relationship openly but they don’t want it to be bigger than the show.

ok I saw this thing on this guy who actuall thought he was a vampire! the facts were freaky though… its almost like he is one. freaky
ACTUALLY……TWILIGHT DIDN’T START THIS…..IF YOU GUYS MAY RECALL….TRUEBLOOD BOOKS STARTED THE WHOLE VAMPIRE TREND….BUT TWILIGHT AND TRUEBLOOD SERIES ARE AWESOME =]
I’m with 4BIDDEN FRUIT! The Twilight Saga will always be the only cool vampire books! The main storyline is more romance and the vampires just add to that. Stephenie does a great job in making such funny lovable characters and that’s the initial attraction. (but don’t get me wrong the vampires and werewolves are the best!)
vampire book usally have alot of adult content like worse than chapter 5 breaking dawn says my cosin cuz im 11 and not aloud to read bd or eclipes cuz of that same cosin and for her bday she got shadow kissing and will not even read it bcuz of the adult content which im not really sure what adult conten means but thats what my parents call it but o well enogh rambeling
o and twilight best book ever and it sucks i cant read bd and eclipes and the only vampies i like r twilight vampires not includine james victoria and lurent but the volturi r cool osry im done now

Everytime I go into the bookstore I am plagued by books like this, and it just really makes me mad because I feel like all those authors don’t even WANT to write about vampires, they just realize that they are the next big thing, and if they write about vampires than it will automatically be a popular book. Plus, none of these vampire books even compare to twilight. The thing is, I don’t read twilight because I love vampires, you know…? I love the cullens and i am interested that they are vampires, but it’s more about how their vampirism affects the people around them than it is about the fact that I think being a vampire is sexy. which i don’t.
its true i got this book at barnes and noble that i never saw and its called”the vampire diaries”
