ET: Are you writing for the chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart?
Melissa Rosenberg: When I wrote ‘Twilight,’ I didn’t know who was starring in it, so I wrote in a vacuum. There was some rewriting that had to be done when we knew who they were, because I had started with more of a comedic edge and it wasn’t appropriate for those actors and the tone. I lean toward the dark comedy, witness “Dexter.” So, going into ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse,’ I knew who I was writing for. I knew who the characters were and what their voices were. It got even easier with ‘Eclipse.’ [Author] Stephenie Meyer’s created the character’s chemistry; and those two actors brought so much chemistry. I don’t think the movies would have been so successful without those two actors and their chemistry. ‘Twilight’ was beautifully cast.

I really like the picture of them. Rob and Kristen look genuinely happy I love it. And i hope she does write the screenplay because Twilight was amazing, that’s why we’re here.

She originally started the Twilight screenplay with a comedic edge? Really?? The saga is not comedic. Stephenie Meyers created an amazing saga with Twilight. Melissa Rosenberg could have and should have written a better screenplay. What was the purpose of that biology field trip? The blood typing scene in the book was much better. It set us up for the love and protection Edward had for Bella and the trust Bella had for Edward. Hopefully, New Moon and Eclipse will be amazing because all she has to do is follow the story line. I do hope SM helps with the Breaking Dawn screenplay.

oh jeez plz dont get started with robsten again. besides the fact that it soudns ridiculous…. kristen is a REAL person (and so is rob). if u really like them, then give them the respect that they deserve as actors, not as characters. they arent zac and vanessa. they arent going to date… get over it. its quite rude
