New Moon breaks all-time midnight box office record

Official numbers from Summit are in!
Summit has announced that The Twilight Saga: New Moon has officially set a new all-time midnight box office record, taking in $26.27M from 3514 theaters.
This shatters The Dark Knight’s $18.4M midnight debut for a 3-day weekend. It also easily surpasses the all-time record for midnight showings which was held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which took in $22.2M on a Tuesday night on its way to a 5-day weekend total of $158M. The Dark Knight went on to take in $67.17M that opening day, dropped 29.1% from Friday to Saturday to bring in another $47.65M, and ended with $43.6M on Sunday for an opening weekend total of $158.4M.

YEAH WE BEAT HARRY POTTER!!!!! I went to a midnight showing. Our theatre had 4 midnight showings and the WHOLE building was pacjed with fangirls!! I slept until noon lol
I went to my local theater but aparently its not out yet…has new moon only opened in America? Because where I’m from nobody has any idea when it’s supposed to be out D:
I went to the midnight premier and while waiting in line two people came up to us and gave us passes for 9:00! We saw the movie 3 hours ahead of time and it was great! I loved it! We were going to see it again with the tickets we already bought but it was too late.
Sarah – I think it has also opened in Europe but Im not sure… What country are you in?
Maddie-I am in Germany…and still can’t find when its being shown D: I’ll figure it out eventually…

Saw New Moon at midnight!! It was so awesome!!! I LOVED IT!!!! Going to see it again on saturday. Can’t wait now for Eclipse to come out!
Our theater had 10 auditoriums showing New Moon and every one was completely sold out. They did an excellent job staying true to the book! Lovely…I’m going back this sunday and I can’t wait!
New moon was great and it was true to the truth GOOD JOB CHRIS! it is really good i watched it last night at midnight
if you read the books you ll know what happends but otherwise it is a cliff hanger so yeah to answer your question elizabeth0315

Ashes – and all my friends said the theatres they went to were full and every auditorium (25) started playing it at seperate times, 9:30 pm, 12:00 am, 12:01 am, 12:10 am and so on. It was EPIC
I saw the midnight showing of New Moon and love it…they def going to make breaking dawn cuz if this is just the amount of one night think of all the money new moon going to bring this weekend…i can’t wait

Saw NM at the midnight showing. Had our tickets for a couple months and waited in line for 7 hours to get good seats for the show. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! Even the added scenes were great! They didn’t mess with the story line at all. Going to see it again on Sunday with a dif friesnd who hasn’t seen it yet. And will keep going till it is out of the theaters!

I seen it a midnight really amazing i nearly didn’t get it u had to be like 16 in the u.k am 14 but i looked older
