Anyway, from what I get from the title, a CGI Renesmee would work, yes, BUT it’s not hard to find a few different actresses in different age groups to be Renesmee. I’ve read somewhere that it’d be hard to do, but it really isn’t. You see babies on TV shows all the time and they obviously cooperate for takes enough when possible, lol.
i personally think that Nessie should be real; she does have normal human traits, and if they need to CGI anything, that would probably have to be her birth and than her other vampire traits. but other than that, the only issue they could run into is probably finding young actresses that look like her. they could maybe CGI her as a small baby, because she doesnt talk, and than add in her actress for when shes old enough to talk and interact farther than what CGI had made her do when she was a day or two old; like laughing.
just my ideas, i hope they won’t CGI all of her, it will take away her charm, (:

I can understand wanting her to look authentic and using a real baby, but her character is simply too aware and has accelerated characteristics and something would be lacking without the use of CGI. Maybe a combination of both? oh and 2 movies for sure!

In my opinion, just let the crew members do their job and we’ll see how the outcome is. If you don’t like it, too bad. Some of you want Renesmee to be 100% real but how is that possible? They need at least 3 actresses that look alike to play Renesmee and how often can you find 3 people that looks identical AND can act? You think it’s easy? Think again.
My opinion is that they should use real actresses for Nessie. And this thing about it being next to impossible to find at least three that look alike? So not true. And besides, isn’t this the part where the make up artists come in? And besides, the more tough parts that Nessie does can be solved with spcial effects, so I’m thinking that this can be solved with a little bit of both.
I don’t know if this is where I am suppose to be leaving this comment, but, id like to say that I’ve been hearing that you guys are thinking about splitting Breaking Dawn into two movies and honestly I see why you guys would do that. I would assume because Breaking Dawn would be a very long movie, simply because it is the best book of the Twilight Saga because of everything that happens which is alot. But if you break it into two movies, everybody would see one part then who knows how long till the next part..it would just ruin everything. Make it into one big movie. I know a great deal of people who wouldn’t mind watching a 5 hour movie on Twilight. Please take into consideration. P.s please please don’t miss anything in the movie on Breaking Dawn im looking forward to almost everything that was in the book!
Why not have one child as Nessie? It doesn’t say anywhere that the scenes have to be filmed in a chronological order. One of the first scenes during principal photography they shoot would be Renesmee’s birth, and from that point on they stretch out her scenes over a long period.
Viewers won’t notice Pattinson or Kristen aging, but they will notice Nessie aging. Of course, it would also require a bit more than 3 months of shooting (I think that’s how much it took for Eclipse), but hey, it’s a long movie, or two! Which is the key, since a span of two movie releases would be enough for a toddler to grow enough.
I think John Doe has the right idea. By the time they finish filming both parts, your baby is not a baby anymore. You just have to shoot the early scenes first then the later scenes last. They do it in the movies all the time. It could work.
I would say that since this is a fictional/fantasy Nessie could be either way, so long as it done in good taste. in LOTR, the CGI looked real as any fictional character could look. I think Summit will do their best to not disappoint us.

And I don’t really want Chris back to direct the last one. Having different directors capture there ideas in each movie is really good. Even though I don’t think they chose the right director for the first one. But dosn’t matter now, that’s in the past.

I think there is a point where Renesmee can be played by a young actress, but for a while I can’t find a way she could possibly be played by an actual child. Granted the time Renesmee will spend as an infant is minimal she will be FAR to aware. An infant can’t focus on a person the way Renesmee will need to. Once she hits the “toddler” stage I think it can be a combo. As someone else said have the parts that a real toddler can’t possibly do be CGI (obviously) but as much as it is possible have her played by a toddler.

Suprisingly, if you add a pinch of asian and shorter hair my little sister, Abby(1 and a half years old), looks a whole lot like Renesmee. My opinion. =-) I also imagined Renesmee like my sis while reading the book!

I think that they should use both. A real child and then add in special effects where needed! Also, please make BD into two movies, its my favorite book and i really hope they put everything in the movie. Its the last book of course and it just makes everything fall into place. Renesmee should definately be played by a real actress with CGI special effects added. We don’t want her to turn out with a “Gollum-like” appearance that worked in Lord of the Rings, but would not work in Breaking Dawn.

the Breaking Dawn movie being split into two movies is stupid. i understand what people are saying about how they want it to be true to the book but i believe that they can make it true to the book if the movie is three hours long or even four. they know damn well that their fans will sit there for four hours. i know i would, plus Lord of the Rings done it so why can`t they?!

She has to be real! Yes she goes through several transformations but I think that's possible with makeup or several different people as the role. She's not some wolf who needs CGI. She's still a person.
The main thing I didn't like about New Moon (other than the fact that Edward (Rob) got as much screen time as Jacob (Taylor) even though it should have been Jacob's movie) is that is was over too soon. Two hours and ten minutes is a good length for a movie, but too short for this story, so I certainly hope that Breaking Dawn is made into two Movies – maybe that way Jacob (Taylor) will get his screen time. Oh and I agree that Renesmee should not be CGI, that will ruin it for me.

She should be real with a lot of special effects. Special effects now days can slim someone, make them taller, change their voice completely, and pretty much do what needs to be done for Renesmee's character. Even though CGI looks very very real, it just wouldnt look right having a baby as a CGI. Just my opinion, though.

and it should be 2 movies so nothing to important gets cut.

They should pull a Ben Button and mix it up. All CGI will be too noticeable and all real won’t translate well. Both will be needed.

I really hope they use a real person, I think it could ruin the movie if they dont, it would just look really cheesey. Its such a amazing book I just hope they dont ruin it when they do the movie, they should make it into 2 movies just so they dont have to cut so much out like they did in New Moon.
I think that they should use both. A real child and then add in special effects where needed! Also, please make BD into two movies, its my favorite book and i really hope they put everything in the movie. Its the last book of course and it just makes everything fall into place. It would really suck if they left parts out like they did in new moon.
Renesmee should definately be played by a real actress with CGI special effects added. We don’t want her to turn out with a “Gollum-like” appearance that worked in Lord of the Rings, but would not work in Breaking Dawn.
She should be real! but they would need many many many Actresses because she grows very fast. but the thing is they would need an extremely smart child to do so. at the end(ish) of the book they say shes smarter than most adults, so maybe CGI would be needed in a few things. i think they should put Breaking Dawn into two movies, but if it was only one i would enjoy every hour of it =] if it was just one it would b at least 4 hours or more! im 13 and was extremely hyper at New Moon so it was hard to sit through 2 or 3 hours and appreciate it but i could handle Breaking Dawn because i love it toooooo much to not be able to sit still and pay attention
i think Renesmee should be REAL, point blank!! making her CGI would just make her look waay too fake. they could maybe use both but have an actress or a few. people saying that it would be hard to get a few babies to play her are wrong because i watch soap operas and they make their children grow up waay quicker than the adults and they don`t seem to have a problem with it. some people are saying that it would be hard to get an mature child which is also wrong because don`t you guys remember how Dakota Fanning was when she was younger?? she was very mature for her age. so i believe that Renesmee can be done REAL!!
the Breaking Dawn movie being split into two movies is stupid. i understand what people are saying about how they want it to be true to the book but i believe that they can make it true to the book if the movie is three hours long or even four. they know damn well that their fans will sit there for four hours. i know i would, plus Lord of the Rings done it so why can`t they?!

I really agree with you. I don’ get why people want 2 movies that means when the movie starts to get really good you have to leave and wait for part 2. And who knows when that will come out. Oh yea Renesmee sooo real.
She has to be real! Yes she goes through several transformations but I think that's possible with makeup or several different people as the role. She's not some wolf who needs CGI. She's still a person.
The main thing I didn't like about New Moon (other than the fact that Edward (Rob) got as much screen time as Jacob (Taylor) even though it should have been Jacob's movie) is that is was over too soon. Two hours and ten minutes is a good length for a movie, but too short for this story, so I certainly hope that Breaking Dawn is made into two Movies – maybe that way Jacob (Taylor) will get his screen time. Oh and I agree that Renesmee should not be CGI, that will ruin it for me.

This is what I think of this. Renesmee should be real but for some parts like her rapid grow rate they should use a LITTLE bit not a lot. It should be one movie. Why would you want to go see it then have to leave cause its two movies and right when it starts to get really good?
i think that it should be both… i mean i know alot of people will be so mad if shes all cgi but i mean people didnt get mad when they cgid edward sparkling in new moon (if you did then wow but im talking about the people in my area) so all the vampire traits need to be cgi… including the birth, but half way: vamp. traits, and her growing new each day and birth cgi but the other parts diffrent actress because i would be fine if she was all cgi but i think it would be best halfway because it will seem more real and i think it would b hard for the actors to be talking to space including jake:/ but thats what i think

She should be real with a lot of special effects. Special effects now days can slim someone, make them taller, change their voice completely, and pretty much do what needs to be done for Renesmee's character. Even though CGI looks very very real, it just wouldnt look right having a baby as a CGI. Just my opinion, though.
