Deadline.com is reporting that they have confirmed that Breaking Dawn will be split into two films! Read the announcement here!
I have this from several sources, and it’s definitive. Filming on the back-to-back movies would begin in mid-October, and Summit Entertainment is looking at “high-end” directors.
Due to the length of the prose novel, the book will be divided into 2 volumes and the release date for the second volume is forthcoming.

I think they will split right at the point when Jacob is walking away from Bela after she has given birth to Renesme and Jacob is on his way to kill the baby. At least I think that is the ideal spot for the end of Breaking Dawn Part 1. I wonder what they will call the first and second parts of Breaking Dawn…lol.

i know Summit hasn't said anything yet, but I think it would be STUPID of them to not make it two movies. So it's pretty obvious that it will be two. This site still does offer good updates. If this was only about Twilight it would not be updated everyday. I like that it gives you updates about the actors and how they are growing from starting in Twilight.
i don't see why they have to split it into 2 films, the whole book is not going into the movie. Besides they said that they weren't sure if they should go with one or two yet.

I think like with the other movies they broke everything up and like left out some parts and its like whatever but with Breaking Dawn there is literally so much in rgards to the plot and like everything else that theres no way they can cut stuff out and people won't be pissed because EVERYTHING is important. Pretty sure Summit released a statement saying that they haven't confirmed anything yet… I kind of miss the days when this site actually offered good news updates.

I was commenting on the journalistic integrity of their post. Please don't get me wrong, Twilighters.org was the first fan site I was ever involved in, and I'm thoroughly appreciative of everything they've done for the fandom and the ways they are improving their site. However, if they can't verify something before posting it, then they are no better than any other gossip sheet out there. A little bit of research on their part would have turned up that Summit's most recent statement was that “No decision has been made and as we have said all along we are continuing to work with Stephenie Meyer to bring BD to the big screen.” The last time I checked, it wasn't a crime to ask for some fact checking before making definitive statements like 'Confirmed Breaking Dawn Will Be Two Movies!'

Part of me is really excited there is going to be two movies, you know? Two movies= two nights out, and something more to look forward too. Also, there is too much from the book to pack into one movie- then it would be long and leaving out lots of details. But at the same time, I want to see it and I want to see it now!

I honestly don't think they should spilt just cause the story didn't reach the climax all of us were expecting. Bd was great in bits but thw whole thing was a little bit off. I just feel like yet again they are making a profit out of it and not thinking much about how the book would turn out in the movie. though I don't mind if they changed the ending (the war pursuing) just to have a little more thrill (other than the honeymoon scenes of course) to the story. I'll watch it anyway.

I’m kind of glad that it’s gonna be two movies. But Renesmee better be beautiful!!!! If they use CGI or something, it’ll totally destroy the whole movie. And Bella’s wedding dress/outfit has got to be better than her prom getup. Leggings and converse sneakers? Grandm sweater? Gross.

I think they would split it at the part where Bella just gave birth to Renesmee, Bella's heart stops, and Jacob imprints on Renesmee. Or when Bella wakes up to being a vampire…it would be cool if the final shot was like with her eyes flashing open, and they're blood red, then the movie could just end right there. That'd be cool.

You guys need to chill out before assuming its actually going to happen cause u never know…they could pull the plug on everything and say no but i highly doubt it since the Twilight franchise is Summits cash cow.
