In the previous Eclipse Trailer we got a preview of Bella wearing the engagement ring, but in the newest trailer we get a more up close glimpse in the newest trailer, which you can see below:
This is definitely one of the scenes I’m most looking forward to (and I’m sure I’m not the only one)! 
i personally don't like the ring, not my style. but i appreciate how it looks exactly like what i imagined from the book.
Ugly. If I got proposed to with that, I'd be like hellllll no.
When I first saw it I thought "Diva" – like some cheap ring you could get at any store.. But I've been studying it more and I can see how it fits into the story, and I actually don't mind it.. Maybe if it was a smaller engagement ring I would wear it, but it's kinda niice…

That is my favorite scene in the entire book! (Well… that and the tent scene. *heehee*) I can't wait. This is going to be an amazing movie. I just hope everything is really close to the book, because this is my favorite book out of the whole series.

Not how I pictured it at all. I pictured it more dainty.
I pictured this smaller…. Other than that, I imagined it slightly the same way, but the "web" around the diamonds as the book described seemed more intricate in my head than what is actually there.

Edward's HUMAN mother, therefore, would have been born sometime in the LATE 19TH CENTURY . . . NOT "17-18 century. And that ring is, in fact, "traditional" . . . for the early 20th century, that is. It very well could have been the ring that Edward's father had given to his mother.
WTF are you talking about?!!!! where did you get 17th & 18th century from? edward died in 1917 from the spanish influenza outbreak that happened that year. yes it's a true event that really happened, & yes you can die from the flu. his parents would have born in the middle 1800's which was yes the 19th century. understand??? if they ever renew their vows someday like on their 100th anniversary, he can give her the traditional 2 caret round diamond solitaire ;p

It is pretty close to how I imagined it (from reading the book) but honestly, I really think its ugly. Sorry,just giving my opinion. I mean, I LOVE twilight both the movies and the books, i just don't love this ring, personally but can't wait 2 c the movie:)

You guys nailed it. It fits Bella to a T, but it's not what I pictured either. In my head the webbing was raised off the base of the ring & the interlaced diamonds stood out a bit more. I just didn't envision it being so flat & oblong. But what do I know. Maybe Stephenie drew it out for David and this is really how she meant for it to look — I'd be curious to hear the story of how it was made for the movie.
And like Geo said, this is gonna be one of the best scenes in the movie. I doubt that any of us Edward fans will be looking at the ring anyway. We'll all be so busy swooning over that look in Edward's eyes that he could be giving Bella a lump of coal for all we know!
yeah…It's what I pictured when I was reading the book….BUT…a little bit more….umm…beautiful???And yes…the diamonds should have stood out MORE…from this shot it just looks TOO oblong and flat.
From this shot (and I'm saying this because it MIGHT look beautiful in a different angle) I agree with JAKESGURL it doesn't look too appealing.
NOT at all what i pictured from the book, this looks like something you would buy in a jewellers today not 1870's there is no way it would look anything like this. Sorry but i think they got it wrong on this one. CAn't wait for ther movie though hangin for that & lovin it!!!

i was not around in the 1800s` so i have no clue what an ring from then looked like,
but ,it is touching it was Edwards mother so that is important.

I actually like the ring. I think it is kind of how I pictured it. I have nothing to complain about. At least we had a quick glimpse of this scene. (one of my all time favorites.) I think it looks pretty. So what if it's not EXACTLY how it's supposed to be, at least it doesn't look like a cheap Walmart ring.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I just think that this is the least of our worries. Not that I have any. Eclipse looks amazing. And I'm saying that as a true TwiHard. ;D

Just a question, but can no one produce an accurate replica of this?! It's killing me!! There are "replicas" all over the internet, but even the ones who claim to be accurate like this one (http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/10100000/Bella-s-Engagement-Ring-twilight-series-10116935-2560-1640.jpg) aren't even close! If you look at the picture of the movie ring, the small stones are in a slanted pattern, almost leaf-like. And the band is small and the metal is very delicate around the stones like described in the book. I've never seen a replica that does it like this. No one pays any attention to detail anymore… *sigh*

the type of design used in the movie is called "pave." diamonds or crystals can be used. however there isn't any type of pattern. the movie ring is better then the one described in the book.
in the book it was gold and Bella would not let him get her any pretty and fancy stuff so he gave her his mother's but if Bella would have let him buy her pretty things he would have gone out and spent a lot of money but thats the reason she woun't let him. but you see that chain on her hand, that is a real dimond heart bracelet also a hand-me-down and if Bella likes it what dose it matter! It was not like a real proposal they made a compromise but if you want to know what the compromise is read the book or wach the movie when it comes out but i think it's sweet he didn't leave her ringless like she have let him he gave her his mother's ring one of the last things he has of her it looks nice on Bella his exsact words in the book for his proposal was this… Isabella swan i promise to love you forecver—every single day of forever. Will you mary me? She said yes. He was also on one knee. i think it's romantic. TEAM EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
