I don’t normally delve into Hollywood gossip, but there has been a bit of buzz lately that has got me thinking. It seems that our beloved KStew is being courted to play Snow White in an upcoming action/drama remake of the story. What do you think about that? Do you think she will do it? Her career choices seem to be more geared toward indie stuff, do you think she would want to play another “young adult/teen”-geared role, or does she want to do more “serious” stuff?
In my opinion as Thinking About Twilight Stuff Too Much Girl, and sadly, not (YET!) as KStew’s BFF and confidant, or even, again sadly, as someone who does not know her personally at all, I suppose it depends on the treatment of the movie. There has been a lot of talk about Bella as a damsel in distress, which I personally take issue with (specifically, HERE). Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke just did a very different version of Red Riding Hood, and I suspect this, too, will not be a scene for scene remake of the Disney cartoon. Perhaps Kristen would do it if Snow White is more kick-ass and less delicate flower. I just saw Tangled, and it seems that, perhaps maybe a little, Hollywood is getting the message that we are all very tired of girls in films sitting around waiting to be rescued. Damsels are So. Over.
Do you think Hollywood is trying to make fairy tales the new phenom to replace the vampires that have been everywhere of late? If so, do you think it will work, or are vampires here to stay?
As far as the damsel/YA angle, it’s something to think about for Kristen; do you think she would or should be worried about becoming typecast? Would you go see the movie regardless, or only because she is in it and we all love her so?

I would love to see Kristen do more commercial movies. I would have loved to see her in The Girl with The Dragon Tatoo – I think she would have been perfect. I don't know if they will follow the Disney storyline for Snow White – I am assuming it will be quite different. I also read previously that while Kristen tried out for the role, they offered it to someone less famous (Riley "somebody" – Elvis' granddaughter?). If she is indeed offered the role and some other big names sign on, then yes! I would love to see her in the role. I don't think that would be considered typecasting. I am hoping she has a long successful career.
I just saw the European version of GWTDT and it was not what I had expected, but amazing and the actress that played in it was great. Kristen would have been sooooo good in the American version…how could they pass her up for that one…I would have waited for hell and high water to get her. I would have been one of her most provocative and challenging roles yet…On to Snow White then…kinda kookie but hey, Kristen can handle anything, even an ol' nasty witch. Could be quite interesting.

While I am sad to see the saga ending in movies, I am pretty excited to see what all the cast will all do next. I heard that Viggo Mortenson (IDK if I am spelling that right- the dude who played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings) is being asked to play the huntsman.
I dig indie cool movies, so I am pleased that KStew RPattz now have all the Vampire Cash they will need to live quite comfortably, so they can freely choose roles for their artistic merit or just general interest, and not have to worry about paying the rent. So, yay for awesome movies being made!
She is so amazing. I would watch her in anything!!!
Yeah, me too! I just finished reading her article in this month's Vogue. She looks just as twitchy and awkward and cute as they say she is.
(side note: zomg I can't stand Vogue. I feel like a small part of my brain turned to mush just from the perfume samples, never mind the vapid looks on the awful models.)
All Snow Whites have to be able to sing and sorry but, Kristen, you can't.
Whatever Kristen chooses to do she always does her best and is exceptional in action roles. She is not only talented, but beautiful to match. What a combo! Any company would be lucky to have her in their movie. I could see her doing the snow white thing for a chance to make it better. I don't think she would be bothered by anything. She's cool and knows what she wants, the complete opposite of Bella.
I think Bella is more bad ass than people give her credit for. But Kristen is most definitely bad ass, and I think it would be cool if they made Snow White sort of dark and broody.
I think that she is a wonderful actress. She has demonstrated that she can take on different roles. So even if she does act as Snow White, I think that she would do a great job. =)
I don't picture Kristen as Snow White. It would be wrong. Kristen is a very good singer, at least in The Runaways-movie. But Snow White? NO
I know what you are saying. Again, I think it will have to do with the treatment of the movie. If it's all dark and gritty, I can see it. Otherwise, I just don't see her as a fluffy, goofy actor. She seems to have a good sense of things, and has some good people advising her (aside from us, of course…heh.) so I am sure (I hope!) that she will do what is best for her.

Being a damsel is not black and white. I think you could be a damsel and a fighter. Bella obviously is a damsel in the twilight series, OBVI, buttt she does have some moments where she fights. And the same goes for the Disney princesses..Ariel, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas all fought back in their movies..literally-they fought.
And please get out of here with all the vampires in hollywood. it is done. killed. "fairy tales" over a more broad spectrum, which could include the cullen clan. but just the solid vampire theme kills.

i think its not to replace vampires purposely, it's just because one person re-makes of fairy tales always make a lot of money and so people are repeating the idea because they know for sure people will go to see the new version of a classic. but yes, it will definetely push vampires out of the spotlight because they've already been fading anyways, sadly enough. twilight won't fade, but the vampire obsession will. i think that's kind of good. i don't even like vampires, i just like twilight anyways.
