Harry Potter midnight shows beat Eclipse

Fandango reported that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 made $43.2 million during midnight & early morning screenings, beating Eclipse’s record of $30 million.

Fandango sold more tickets to midnight and early morning shows than it has for any other late night opening ever, including The Dark Knight and New Moon.

The Dark Knight currently holds the record for the biggest opening weekend with $158 million while the sixth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, holds the worldwide opening weekend record with $394 million in tickets sold and Twilight: New Moon holds the single day record of $72.7 million. All of these records are in jeopardy of being eclipsed by this Deathly Hallows – Part 2 by the time the dust settles Sunday night.

Good luck, Twilight. You're DEFINITELY going to need it.

No offense Twilighters, Stephenie, etc, etc… but YEAH! I mean. It's the end! I finally saw it today and it was great! I'm not gonna hate on HP or Twilight (I hate when people say I have to "pick a side" it's like telling me I can only have ONE favorite book or ONE favorite song, etc).

MAYBE Twilight could beat HP (Big MAYBE), but….HP was tragically beautiful. It made me cry almost the entire movie. It's gonna be way hard to beat. But, good luck.
