Glad you liked the post. I think most people (men and women) don't really realize they are thinking along the lines of "if girls like it, it's automatically crap", but they do. It's insidious. I also don't really buy into the whole Harry Potter vs. Twilight thing; most people I know who like one also like the other, to varying degrees. I think it's mostly a manufactured thing. *shrug*

Thank you for saying exactly what I've been thinking for years! I made a very similar argument when a friend said (basically) Harry Potter is deep and Twilight is garbage. (And he considers himself a feminist!) I said, if girls like it, it's automatically crap??? I also said, read the books, don't base your assessment on the movies. The movies are wonderful, but the books have a LOT more going on than can be covered in the movies. Anyway, thanks again for your terrific commentary.
