Gosh, you people all must be little teenage girls. Yes, Alec has a power: sensory paralysis. In case you do not know what that means: he has the ability to take away your senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and feel). So, when the one poster posted that Alec's ability was an antidote to Jane's ability, they were actually correct, in a way. If Alec takes away your ability to feel, then Jane's ability to cause you pain is obsolete because you wouldn't be able to feel it. However, they are both members of the Volturi and brother and sister, so it's not exactly an issue. It is not like Alec is going to use his powers on someone to protect them from Jane…and even if he did, they would still be absolutely vulnerable to attack. So, it doesn't make any difference whether Jane is casuing you so much pain that you cannot fight back or Alec has taken away your senses so you cannot fight back. Either way, you're a dead duck. The only one who can protect you from those two is Bella with her ability to shield her mind as well as other's minds as well.

And just in case there's any doubt, I'm NOT a Twilight fan by any stretch of the imagination.
Also, for those who are cutting caius down..He may not have a special ability really, but technically neither does Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie or Emmet. I mean, Carlisle being "compassionate" is not a power, it is a characteristic. Esme being capable of loving unconditionally is not a power, it is a characteristic. Rosalie being stubborn or tenacious is not a power, its a characteristic. The only arguement that could be made is Emmet is supposedly very strong in the same sense that Edward is fast, but that is technically a special ability. He was probably strong as a human and as Carlisle theorized, whatever your strongest traits were when you were a human become amplified when you are turned into a Vampire. Caius may not have a special power like mind reading, precognition or sensory paralysis, etc., however, he is one of the Volturi leads because he is very old. His age alone, being more than 3,000 years old, makes him extremely powerful. Compared to someone like Edward, etc., who is only 110, having the ability to read minds doesn't do him much good compared to a vampire who is so much older, particularly if they were going to fight.

It's just that sometimes when we really like this one character that we tend to forget the others ( good or bad ) when they also contribute a lot for this wonderful movie. So, cut the guy some slack.
