Don’t forget about the Breaking Dawn Concert Series event in L.A. tomorrow night (August 7th). The live broadcast will start at 7:00pm PDT (10:00pm EDT), and as far as I know, this will be your last chance to watch one of the events. Remember, it can be viewed on iClips.net or EW.com. The NYC event last week was very good — I would recommend tuning in.

MainStreet.com has an article by Amanda Beals about Harry Potter vs. Twilight.
Dawn has set. That is Breaking Dawn, the final installment in the young adult vampire saga, Twilight. With a mysterious cover that fans are eager to decode, Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers, sold an estimated 1.3 million copies last Saturday with her publisher adding an additional 500,000. Is Meyers the new JK Rowling? Meyers replies to the National Post “…There’s no way I’m ever going to be that big, nor [will] anyone else. I don’t think there’s ever going to be anything else to touch that in the future.

Sorry if I am interrupting anyone’s reading time, but I just have a few items:
If you missed Stephenie on CBS Sunday Morning, click here to read the story. Also, several people have asked about the sales of Breaking Dawn. Here is a quote from an article posted yesterday on USAToday.com: “The Hachette Book Group estimates 1.3 million copies were sold on Saturday after being released at 12:01 a.m. It was its largest first-day sales record. In anticipation of demand, an additional 500,000 copies were printed before publication, bringing the total to 3.7 million.” For those of us who have been fans of the Twilight Saga since the beginning, it is incredible to ponder how quickly the popularity has increased. I think it is awesome that so many people are now able to participate in the world of Twilight.
Anyway… a few people have sent me pictures from their Breaking Dawn Release Parties, and I decided that it was a pretty good idea to start a page similar to the Eclipse Prom page. So, send your favorite BD release party pictures to bdparties@gmail.com by about noon this Saturday (August 9th), and I will post a few of the best ones on the site for everyone to enjoy.
And, as many of you have requested, I have added the playlist.com player to the Breaking Dawn Playlist. Enjoy!

Mtv has an interview with Stephenie.
Stephenie Meyer Says She May Revist ‘Twilight’ Universe Someday.
MTV: Is it going to be hard to walk away from “Twilight”?
Meyer: I don’t feel like I have yet. I’m still working with the Edward book, which keeps me in it. I know for absolute sure that this is the last time Bella’s going to tell the story, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to leave all the characters behind. There are so many stories there. While I plan to do some other things first, I may come back to it.
‘Breaking Dawn’ Mania Is Everywhere and We’re In the Middle of It.
You’ve probably read “Breaking Dawn” by now. Perhaps you’ve read parts one and two of our interview with Stephenie Meyer. Maybe you were even in the audience at the event our own Kim Stolz hosted on Friday night. If you weren’t, we’ve got the next best thing. Kim spent the entire day in the middle of “Breaking Dawn” madness.
We’ve upload pictures from the release party I went to to the gallery [the toes and hand painted red, white and black are mine!].
Have pictures from your own party? Send them to gretchen@twilighters.org and I’ll add them to the gallery.
