In the audition process, how did it work?

We actually got a call, because I just live on the island [Vancouver Island], so we got a call and we were going to come over here, and I can’t remember happened, but I couldn’t come over. And I missed the audition and I was so panicked about it, so I called my agent, and I was like, “Give me their phone number, I’m going to say sorry.” And he’s like, “You may not have to, I think they’re just going to give it to you.” [Laughs.] And so we ended up just going, going, going…and sure enough they ended up just giving it to me. And obviously I’m not going to turn this down. I’m really honored to be in it.”

Is there pressure to kind of come into a movie that’s so big, as a new person?

Well it’s definitely different. Like, I was in “X-Men 3,” right? So that was kind of the same, but that was the last one of it. So I was in the last one, but this one there’s still two more coming. So it’s kind of mixing in and you know, it might give me a chance to finally be recognized and get bigger. Because all my other movies didn’t really have anything going for them until they came out; that was when they got it. Whereas this one already has a huge fan base because of the books and everything.

Xavier Samuel as Riley In Eclipse

The West Australian and Rachelle Lefevre have confirmed that the Australian actor Xavier Samuel will be cast as Riley in Eclipse.

Little-known Aussie actor Xavier Samuel is headed for the big time after landing a role in one of the hottest movie franchises around: Twilight.

Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight series based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer, his management company Shanahan Management told AAP.

He will play Riley, a good-looking college student and newborn vampire, who joins villain Victoria’s plot to murder Bella (Kristen Stewart).

“I’m really thrilled, but also very overwhelmed, I don’t think it has sunk in yet,” Samuel said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m really excited to be part of the film.”

Becoming a movie heartthrob is never easy and Taylor Lautner is handling it with as much patience and class that you could expect for a 17-year-old whose become instantly recognizable to almost every teenage girl in his peer group.  So, when this writer and a number of journalists visited the set of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in May, Lautner was kind enough to journey to the Vancouver studio during his offtime to chat about the highly-anticipated sequel.  It’s well documented how much work Lautner did to gain the muscle mass to play Jacob, a character that is described as physically imposing in Stephenie Meyer’s books.

Here’s one thing they learned about him:

Robert is alarmingly, nerve-wrackingly handsome in person. He also seems to have some sort of gravitational pull, as every woman on set, not limited to, but certainly including me, inched closer to him as covertly as possible when he was in the vicinity. He didn’t seem to care or notice.

Rachelle Lefevre talks to London Free press about the comparison between her character in Twilight, and her character in New Moon.

“In the first movie, because I didn’t have as much screen time, I wanted to be very clear. I wanted to convey energy and be very present, but also very playful. And that’s because (Victoria) enjoyed stalking Bella with James.

“But when James is killed, it becomes about exacting revenge, which comes from a totally different place. It’s not just a game any more.”

E! have an article talking to Billy Burke about certain rumours which have been spread about Rob and Kristen. Here’s some of what Billy said:

So Kristen was reportedly pregnant, which we cleared up and showed to be totally false.

“Rob is probably pregnant with my child. It’s funny no one picked up on me and Rob’s affair.”

Do you wish you were more involved in rumors like your younger costars?

“I don’t feel left out at all. They can keep me out of those rumors as much as they want.”

How do you think Rob’s handling all this attention? He seems stressed out on the set of his new movie, Remember Me… Think R.Pattz would ever get totally fed up with it and quit acting altogether?

“You mean pulling a Joaquin Phoenix? I doubt he would go that route. He’s got a lot of talent. He’s got his art, as opposed to being bogged down by all this bulls–t. I think he’s handling it well. I feel a little bit for [Rob and Kristen]. I think [the attention] was unexpected by both of them.”

Christopher Heyerdahl, who plays Marcus in the upcoming film, New Moon, speaks to Sci-Fi wire about New Moon.

“Well, it’s a little independent film I’m helping out with,” the good-natured Heyerdahl said with a chuckle and tongue firmly in cheek. “This guy, poor old Marcus, is a 3,000-odd-years-old vampire who has spent at least the last 2,000 of it with a broken heart. Really, one of the main reasons to play that character and have anything to do with that series is my niece, who is absolutely obsessed with this series of books. To see how it has had such an effect on the teenage female community throughout the world is amazing.”
