  • »Cinematical wants to know what Twilight Fans and Non-Twilight Fans think of the official trailer.

Look, whether you want to admit it or not, young females and their moms are the predominant audience for Twilight. They’re buying the books, they’re running the giant Twilight fan sites and it’s their opinion that really matters. (Note: I’m aware there are male fans of Twilight – and more power to them — but understand I’m just pointing out the fact that they’re in the minority here.) So I’m wondering a few things after checking out the latest trailer — like, did it bring in any new fans, male or female? Was Twilight’s core female audience turned off by the new trailer because it didn’t feature more of the love story? Did the score make it seem too creepy and horror movie-ish? Is that the tone you want?

»MLive.com has an interview with Taylor Lautner [Jacob Black].

Hudsonville native Taylor Lautner, 16, is part boy next door, part teen heartthrob. Here, he’s on the set of one of NBC’s most-hyped TV shows of the new season, a spy drama called “My Own Worst Enemy,” starring Christian Slater. It debuts at 10 p.m. Monday. He also has a role in the highly anticipated teen vampire movie, “Twilight,” which opens in November. “I’m just thankful to be doing what I’m doing,” Taylor says. “It’s unreal. I’m just so excited to be doing this.”

    StephenieMeyer.com Update

Once again, we have several announcements. Announcement #1: only 11 more days!

Also, be sure to visit the MTV Movies Blog for Twilight Tuesday tomorrow. MTV is announcing how to submit questions for Stephenie to answer at the New York Breaking Dawn Concert Series event. Start thinking of questions (no spoilers though!). And, while you’re checking out movie news, the LA Times posted more photos from the set of Twilight on their Hollywood Backlot.

For those of you who are going to Comicon this week, I have received information about the Twilight autographing. I have posted it here on the calendar page. If you don’t know anything about Comicon [that makes two of us], you can just skip this link (because it is too late to register — it isn’t my fault, Summit never sent me the information).

Now, I have to reply to some very common questions that I have been emailed over the last few weeks. First, for bookstores that have contacted me about getting your midnight release parties/events on the event locator on TheTwilightSaga.com, please contact your Hachette Book Group sales rep. That is the official response, and I thought it would be easier to post it here than to write emails back to all of you. Second, since many very hopeful fans have asked me when they will know if they won the contest, I thought I would let you know that the winners of the BD Concert Series Sweepstakes were notified last week. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this means that if you weren’t contacted last week, you didn’t win. Sorry.

That was a bit depressing, and I feel like I should end on a happy note. So… only 11 days left!
