Thanks for the tip Laura
ReelzChannel sat down recently with Catherine Hardwicke to talk about the soon-to-release Twilight, her highly anticipated movie version of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel. Read the interview here!
RC: Another thing that was very impressive was that you made the decision not to use CGI. So a lot of the stunts were done with wire work and choreography. Why that decision?
Hardwicke: Well, I think that when we see movies that have really big sets, or all kinds of fake or created environments, in a way they feel kind of fake, too…. But when somebody’s really doing it — really coming through the trees or dive-bombing into the floorboards — there is an impact. There is a difference. So first of all, we didn’t have the budget to do it the other way. But I actually prefer it — it feels more real.
MTV has a VERY interesting new interview with Catherine Hardwick (Twilight Director) where she reveals some new info about the Twilight DVD! Read the whole interview here!
MTV: Obviously, someday there will be a “Twilight” DVD we’ll all want to buy. Do you have any details yet that you could share?
Hardwicke: Oh, yeah, we’ve already put together all of the deleted scenes and extended scenes. I think there’s about 10 or 12 pretty cool things that people are going to like.
MTV: Very cool. And will it be a two-disc or a three-disc?
Hardwicke: I think there’s gonna be a two-disc and a three-disc.
Hardwicke: I think that’s fascinating, though. Yeah, I think that would be awesome. Actually, I have to say one thing: On the DVD, I shot one little tiny scene that is from “Midnight Sun,” and you’re gonna see it on the deleted scenes. Nobody knows that yet.
The Collider has a new interview with Catherine Hardwicke talking
about the Twilight DVD:
Collider: I’m curious, I know you just got back recently and I’m sure you’re not thinking about yet, but what can we look forward to on the DVD/Blu-ray?
Catherine: Actually, I have been working on the DVD already. So we put together all the deleted scenes and extended scenes, there’s quite a few, like 12 or something like that. And then I made some montages of some other crazy elements, like more vampire kiss, biting. And more human hijinks. And I made a pretty wild music video, like a remix of Bella’s Lullaby and I did some pretty trippy things that you may like.
Summit has given us a Halloween treat by announcing that Rob and Catherine will be at a NY Apple store to meet fans!
