Eclipse breaks midnight box office records making $30 million!

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse ripped into the record books with its midnight launch, grossing over $30 million at more than 4,000 theaters. That surpassed The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s previous benchmark of $26.3 million. Included in Eclipse’s sum was a new IMAX midnight milestone of over $1 million at 192 venues, topping Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’s $959,000.

Nikki Finke posted an interesting tidbit on Deadline Hollywood that ‘Eclipse’ is breaking Hollywood records by opening in 4,416 theaters domestically!

The current number for Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga franchise opening Wednesday is 4,416 theaters in North America. That passes Iron Man 2 which scored 4,380 venues.

MTV has a new video interview up with Taylor Lautner where he talks about filming a scene where he had to carry Kristen around all day, it ended up being harder than he anticipated! Watch the video and read the whole article HERE.

“There’s a scene where I’m carrying [Kristen Stewart], and it’s also, like, four pages of dialogue,” Lautner told MTV News. “So I’m carrying her, and we’re walking through the woods, and I’m talking to her, and it’s a pretty intense talk. We actually had plans, a rig that was basically going to carry her, and I was just going to pretend that I was carrying her. We got there on the day, and the rig didn’t look very natural. They were like, ‘What are we going to do?’ and I’m like, ‘I’ll just carry her. She’s like, what, 110 pounds? It’s no big deal!’ “
