JustSoYouKnow.com has a new interview with Jodelle Ferland!

Is it true you didn’t read the Eclipse script before you signed on to play Bree?
Normally when I do movies I usually read the script before I do it, but before ‘Eclipse’ I had a good idea of what the script would be like because I read the boolks and there was just no way I was going to say no. As soon as I found out I got the part and started to prep for the movie, I was allowed to read it.
What was your audition like?
It was the same as any other audition process but the audition normally I get something from the script to read, but for ‘Eclipse’ it was a scene from the book because they didn’t want any of the script to get out at all so I had to read the Bree scene from the book in my audition.

I understand that right after the news broke that you had joined the Twilight family, fans went crazy and you got some intense reactions from your friends. Has the hype died down at all for you?
Yeah. I mean at first everybody was going crazy and everyone was congratulating me. They’re still all really excited and it hasn’t…no, they haven’t calmed down that much. *laughs* I have a Twitter account, and that hasn’t calmed down at all, I’m still getting the same amount of followers. Everyday. On the first couple of days I was getting A LOT, and now its not quite as many everyday. But it’s been about the same pace. My friends have calmed down a little bit, but they are still really really really excited.
It’s been almost a month…do you feel more comfortable going into the role or are you still adjusting to its attached intensity?
I’ve gotten used to the idea. At first I was completely shocked and I couldn’t believe it. But when you think about it, it really is just like any other set. It’s just that it happens to be a very, very famous movie. But it’s not really any different than anything else.
MTV has made a handy guide for the new ladies of Eclipse, being: Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria), Julia Jones (Leah), Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria), Tinsel Korey (Emily), and Jodelle Ferland (Bree).
With that in mind, we present this handy guide to five key actresses joining the “Twilight” saga for its third installment. Much like Bella, we can all look forward to making new friends in Forks, and tomorrow we’ll take a look at the new “Eclipse” men. But to be courteous, here are the ladies first.
Actor: Catalina Sandino Moreno
Character: Maria
The Lowdown: Fan-favorite Jackson Rathbone has already expressed excitement over the fact that his role as Jasper Hale will be expanded greatly for the third “Twilight” film. Oscar-nominee Moreno may no longer be “Full of Grace,” but will now play a very different Maria. Described in Stephenie Meyer’s pages as being petite with a soft voice, Maria is the woman who turned Jasper into a bloodthirsty immortal when he was 20 years old in 1863. Her inclusion will play a major role in the young vampire threat that emerges throughout “Eclipse” and the likely-to-film-someday “Breaking Dawn.”

“I’m allowed to tell people that I play a vampire who has just been turned,” the 14-year-old Canadian actress tells me. “In other words, I’m a newborn vampire. I’m not allowed to say the name of the character.”
So if she won’t say whether her character is Team Edward or Team Jacob, what’s her pick in real life?
It’s Team Edward all the way for Jodelle.“I just think if maybe Jacob had been introduced first then everybody would like him better,” she said. “It just seems that since Edward was the first one to be with Bella, people want him to stay with her. So, you know, that’s the character that you start to like first! And then Jacob comes into the picture and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, no! Stay with Edward.’”
Jodelle says she’s “really, really excited to meet Robert Pattinson.” As are her friends. “Every single person I’ve told has asked me if they could come to the set,” she said, adding with a laugh, “I’ve said, ‘I’ll have to think about that.’”

The 14-year-old Vancouverite has just landed a coveted role in Eclipse, the third film in the series. Since seeing the first film with friends and auditioning for the role, she borrowed and read all four books.
“I hadn’t heard much about Twilight when it first came out,” she said in a phone interview from Playland.
“I’m home-schooled so sometimes I don’t hear about things like that,” she said. “But my friends were all freaking out about Twilight and I was like ‘What’s that?’”
“Now I know what it is, obviously,” she laughed.
