What was it like playing a good vampire?
(Laughs) It was fun, it was the joy of having all this super-power strength and the knowledge of knowing you can’t really die unless another vampire comes at you and annihilate you but being Emmet they really can’t do that to me!
What was your favorite scene to shoot?
Favorite scene to shoot, I would have to say (pause) probably the ballet scene, that’s where I was rigged and we did a lot of stunts and that’s my forte – I love doing stunts and getting dirty and hurting myself so it was really fun when we jumped off the balcony. You land on the ground fifteen feet below but it’s really a free fall because we have to act like vampires so it’s that rush of being safe but not feeling safe!

“Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz gave the paps a little show while arriving at LAX. The Twilight actors whipped out a copy of ‘New Moon’ and pretended to read it to stage a great photo. They should have placed the book upside down. LOL!”

Q: How surprised are you by the success of Twilight?
A: We were really surprised. I mean we knew because there was a book, that there would be some sort of a following, but when we finished filming, and the anticipation followed, we realized that it was a bigger deal. Then come opening weekend we made our money back on opening night, so we were like yeah! We were all surprised at how well it did, it’s just kind of unfathomable how well it did.
K: For me, I didn’t know Twilight was a book series when I got involved with it… I know, boo me! I need to read more apparently! But Ashley bought the books to my hotel room, and said, hey, have you read the books? And I laughed in her face, then she had all the copies for me, so I read them as quickly as I could. Loved the book series, and then I realized why the fans, you know, followed it so closely. And, you know, it’s a great story, about that bit of love that we all know. It’s beautiful, and, I fell in love with it. So to see how quickly I fell in love, I knew it was going to be a big hit. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride. But we all enjoyed being a part of it. The fans guys are amazing!
MTV talks with Rachelle, Kellan, and Ashley for a little bit about the DVD release party and doing autographs.
From the Hot Topic release party with Ashley Greene:
There was a lot of mortal love in the room Friday when Twilight star Kellan Lutz called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to promote the movie’s DVD, which goes on sale just after midnight tonight.
“Rob is the lead, but you’re the better-looking Cullen,” Ryan bravely admitted to Kellan, at the risk of infuriating millions of Robert Pattinson loyalists.
“His accent and his crazy hairdo get the girls swooning,” Kellan told Ryan, before pointing out the one quality Pattz possesses that never, ever seems to fail him.
“Rob’s kind of shy, and he does this thing, when he’s really shy, or when someone asks him something, he lowers his head down and the girls love it!”
