Muse’s current album, The Resistance (Warner Bros. Records), debuted at #1 on the Alternative, Rock, and Internet album charts and earned the band their highest-ever debut on the Billboard 200, bowing at #3 last year. The first single “Uprising” remained at #1 for 19 consecutive weeks on Mediabase’s Alternative Rock chart—breaking the record for the longest run at #1 in the history of the chart. Muse also became the first artist ever to have two songs (“Uprising” and “Resistance”) in the top 3 on both Mediabase and BDS Alternative Rock charts in the same week. The Resistance became an international smash, landing 20 #1 debuts around the world, including Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the U.K.

MUSE is First Single on Eclipse Soundtrack

Seth just posted on StephenieMeyer.com the exciting news that MUSE will be the first single on the Eclipse Soundtrack!

The first single on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” has just been confirmed and I get to bring you the exclusive details. Stephenie’s very favorite band, Muse, has contributed a song called “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)” and it’s the first single from the project. It will be out on May 17th. I haven’t heard it yet, but I am very excited. The official soundtrack will also be available on June 8th. You can pre-order the Eclipse soundtrack here.

Muse in Eclipse Soundtrack?

Earlier this month it was reported that Muse would not be on the Eclipse movie soundtrack, not because of lack of interest, but a business deal couldn’t be made. Now, Twilighters Anonymous is reporting that they will be on the soundtrack:

TA has a reporter who has been covering events down at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas all week. Well today that reporter happened to find themselves in conversation with informed sources from Chop Shop/Atlantic Records. The source has confirmed that Muse will indeed be on the Eclipse soundtrack.

No Muse on Eclipse Soundtrack

Dose.ca has a new interview with the band’s Dominic Howard where they found out Muse will not be in the New Moon soundtrack. They even had a song inmind for it that they said would have fit Edward and Bella well. Read the whole article here!

“Oh, it’s nothing to do with Stephenie, she’s totally cool,” says Howard, beginning to explain how Muse have potentially broken their Twilight hat-trick. “It’s the people in the movie business, completely outside of the writers and the creative types, the non-creative types I suppose are the people who are quite hard to deal with in Hollywood, so it didn’t work out.”
